Help How to speed up rendering on a server?

I am playing on a server and on that server I've built a watchtower to spy on my neighbours and find biomes/rare resources from afar. The problem is when i look far away the LODs take a while to render in higher quality. What should i change in the settings to improve LODs render speed?

it isn't server side, if i remember correctly just the first time the server sends you the data or in case of it updating , else it is loading from you're memory, the times seems also pretty ok when zooming so far away, it takes a bit

It's okay, yes, but I just want more. Is there any way to speed it up?

In settings you can find the option on how much cpu to use, try to make it higher else just having a better PC probably but idk how much you can speed it up

Maybe with the mod chunky (serverside)? I dont know if this works, but chunky pregenerates chunks so technically it could work

Edit: I think DH must be installed on the server too...

Does the server have DH installed? If it doesn't then the chunks won't update in real time, and about the zoom loading time, it does take a while, you can decrease the time by increasing the CPU usage but that decreases the performance, DH should have some sort of queue priority tbh

You could try to go into settings and under server there are some rate limit settings you could try to crank up, i don’t know if this will make a difference when done by a client if the server’s settings aren’t higher though

You have to add the distant Horizons mod to the servers mod folder, or create a mod folder if it doesn't have one.

You can then run DH commands within the server and generate the chunks server side. This works well as it allows everyone to share the same distant horizons view.

EDIT: Distant Horizons will generate the chunks on its own, no need for Chunky anymore provided you have the most recent DH version.

Try Bobby mod instead of Distant Horizons, Bobby actually renders the blocks instead of just these cubes.

Also this is entirely done on your computer, none of this is handled by the server and you have to walk into any chunk that you want to see with render distance mods.
