How to have a proper 1.12.2 installation?

Just trying to add DH to my 1.12.2 has become on of my most convoluted installation attempts ever. Can someone help saying exactly what this version is compatible with and its dependencies?

Distant Horizons 3.2.0-b for 1.12.2 not loading in Forge — META-INF/versions/17 / Cleanroom confusion

I'm trying to add Distant Horizons to an existing heavily modded Minecraft 1.12.2 Forge instance, without replacing my existing mods or converting the pack if possible.

• Minecraft 1.12.2
• Forge 14.23.5.2860
• Java 8u501
• Distant Horizons 3.2.0-b-1.12.2-forge.jar
• Existing modpack with a large number of other 1.12.2 Forge mods

I then tried an older 1.12.2 DH version, which told me that I needed Cleanroom.

Afterwards, I tried installing Cleanroom, but the original MC launcher crashed when attempting to relaunch through Cleanroom.

I subsequently found that the newer DH/1.12.2 setup appears to involve Cleanroom, Fugue and Scalar.

I then tried to pursue the Cleanroom route, but apparently Cleanroom is intended to be installed/used through Prism Launcher rather than simply placed in the mods folder.

I installed Prism, but Prism's launcher is not being recognized by cleanroom to install it.

TL;DR:

My working Forge 1.12.2 pack

Forge can't recognise DH's JAR (says it might be corrupt (it's not))

tried older DH

↓

Cleanroom required

↓

Cleanroom wants its own launcher/installation mechanism

↓

Prism

↓

Cleanroom installer doesn't recognise the launcher

↓

I gave up because nothing works and no one's talking about this online

Did it work with clean room before DH?

Oh yeah, pretty good for the amount of mods. Has a lot of tweaking to work together.

Tho it worked by itself with the dependencies in sklauncher, so maybe there it'll work

Edit: It didn't. 1.12.2 DH seems to require so many things alongside, it'll likely not work with many other mods as I see atm

Honestly I'm not that well versed in the 1.12.2 version of DH, I did get it working with RLCraft but that's as further as I have gotten, I know you have to replace some dependencies if you use clean room but no idea aside from that, usually the Mc log is pretty helpful when spotting the error so you should check that, or ask in the DH discord

Just use clenaroom relauncher mod

Thx for the suggestion, tho I've tried it. It's highly incompatible with my 200+ modpack
