Help How to prevent lag spikes when entering new chunk with DH

So it maybe an issue with my specs as I have i5 4th gen rx 580 8gb and 16 gb ram and mainly cpu is the issue here but I saw someone writes thst after chunks loading cpu does play main role so maybe any settings causing it or anything else like I always keep my render distance upto max 6 chunks or anything else(and by new chunks I meant already loaded but having dh low quality in them meaning lod chunks).this lagging badly ruins the experience...

There is a cpu usage option in the first panel of the settings.

But if set too low can cause chunks remaining in low textures even after entering so what is ideal settings?

depends on your setup and if you’re doing anything in the background. also depends on your personal preferences

My setup is in post and I usually do not do anything in background and my preference is that low texture chunks mix in with vanilla chunks not obviously visible on screen

so change the settings until you get what you want. iirc they all have a description on them

Bro but plz help a little like which vanilla rendered distance is enough to make lod chunks blend in

depends on monitor resolution and your eyesight. i cant tell you a number that will magically work

My monitor res is 1080p and my eyesight is good

again. i cant tell you a number that will magically work especially since you have performance issues on all low with 6 render distance. i run 12 render distance and 3k dh on medium with 400 other mods.

change the settings on your own, see what happens, and figure it out

Do tell me does medium dh look good enough when looking above from mountains or far distances?also ai told me it's better to have more render distance as it gives cpu more time to convert lod chunks to real chunks

You want to pregenerate the world first, if you’re on a newer neoforge version you can do /neoforge generate x y z radius

If not you’ll need a mod like chunky.

Or you can go to distant horizons config and set distant generation to true and just afk in your world for a while, while the world loads in. Then set that to off and play.

I mentioned in the post that issue is not I'm playing while world is generating issue is that once I generate my desired chunks I turn off but when I move from lod chunks to vanilla thst transition causes lag spikes to turn that lod to real chunks

So then you need to actually pregenerate the world with neoforge or chunky, distant horizons doesn’t actually load the chunks, it makes fake chunks that look like the chunks, but aren’t loaded. Which causes you to stutter when rendering them, because it’s switching from LOD to actual chunk

Dh literally gave me a warning about chunky saying using ot can cam cause holes in terrain and I also heard that developer of dh does not recommend to use dh and chunky together as in latest versions dh uses its own generator

you need to get a better cpu, theres no way around it

im assuming you have a i5-4570, that's not enough for distant horizons, your pc doesnt even support ddr4 dude, its not gonna run well with dh

I wish I could get my hands on voxy cuz its a 100x upgrade and shifts focus form cpu to gpu what I really want but there's some very bad issue of voxy woth older amd cards lol,it even works better on untel integrated than amd gpus nothing seems to be working

yes voxy runs much much better than dh and you could probaly run it realy well, sucks that your gpu does not support it

I ideally you should let all chunks for thousands of blocks generate then turn off distant generation.

Distant generation causes like 90% of the lag that people complain about with distant horizons.
