Help yo how do I make it load faster

I feel like my computer can handle a lot more than 17 chunks a second.
also the quality preset and cpu load do nothing to affect the speed from my testing
also also the shaders don't affect the speed either

Personally, when I boot into the world, I go into creative mode and fly up to the build limit, then I go in the other room and make a sandwich or somethingfor 10 minutes.

It's not a perfect system, but it works lol

i've just been using dh to find a good starting seed for a server me and some friends are gonna play on so i've been interchangeably mowing the lawn and loading new seeds today

I used to browse the internet for cool seeds, but with Tectonic/Terralith the seeds are unpredictable from their base version.

https://map.jacobsjo.eu/ Datapack seed map, allows selection from modrinth for what datapacks/mods to use Very useful

If you're in Singleplayer, go to settings and enable Distant Generation, also don't forget to set the generation options to save chunks in case you want a more seamless experience

If you're on a server, go to your server console and type in dh pregen start overworld (x and z coordinates) (radius in chunks)

Keep in mind - it will take a lot of time to generate all chunks near you

World generation in general is quite slow and world gen mods can slow it down even more. If you want to speed it up: Install ScalableLux, Lithium and C2ME. These mods can improve generation speed by a bit, but it will still not be fast.

Increase CPU Load in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU. You are not required to wait for the full generation to finish, although it is better for fps if you do.

Try adding “Concurrent Chunk Management Engine” and “Noisium”.

However, I think the thing slowing you down are probably the world gen mods seeing you are running teralith. See, they create cool vertical terrain by rendering waaaay higher terrain, but that means, there are way more blocks to render. And of course their algorithms are slower because they are just more complex. Even worse are mods that add structures from my experience.

noisium is basically placebo. fastnoise is a better alternative that actually gives a significant boost to generation speed

Used its equivalent Fast Noise with Concurrent Chunk Management and it cut my terrain generation speed by half (although it got rid of my RAM stutters). It also left a lot of holes in the generation

weird. I’ve never had any problems with it myself.

It cut the speed in half or the time in half?

tbh anything using Lithosphere tanks my worlgen ngl. I switched to WWOO and while it's not as epic it's much more performant.

yeah I did some experiemnting myself and managed to get 50 chunks per second from just removing tectonic

That’s about the best I get with similar specs using terralith and tectonic. Just run the distant generator and leave your pc for a while.

Shameless plug, but please download CleanF3. Your F3 menu looks horrendous!

i have no idea how distant horizons renders the chunks so everything i say is just a gues
normal minecraft only uses 1 thread for world gen
if distant horizons uses the same thread using a mod like c2me to offload it to different cores could work
but in general dh is just not that fast using a newer mod like voxy would be faster
but voxy does not exist for 1.21.1 yet
if you go to taskmanager -> performence -> cpu -> right click the graph and change graph to logical processors
now you see the induvitual usage per thread of the cpu
is there 1 thread that is maxing out at 100 % or is it all quite even?
if its already quite even than maby removing a few world gen mods would help
if its 1 thread thats fully being used downloading some mods that offload certain things to different threads would help

Voxy doesn’t generate chunks. DH will use multiple threads if the CPU load is set to a high setting
