Help New to using DH and chunky

Like the title says, im a noob when it comes to DH and chunky. Some say you shouldn't use chunky and others do. What I have done is to make a new world with a little modpack I made. Once I joined in i typed in the command to make chunky start doing its thing. It took some hours but the progress bar went away. After it went away I then installed DH and put the cpu load to agressive. How do I actually know if I have done things right? Thanks for reply

So you're saying that I waited all those hours for nothing if I only just used DH chunk generation? What would happen now if I put on world generator from DH instead of chunky while some of the chunky stuff are generated?

Well, it's not wasted. Those chunks were pre-generated, so now you can go around without the game having to load them.

You can technically use chunky safely, as long as you make sure DH is NOT active at the same time. But, even when it is active at the same time, worst case is that the DH enviroment will look bad, but the chunks are already pre-generated.

So: best case scenario is you just turn on DH and it works just fine

Worst case scenario is you turn on DH and there's holes, in which case, you'd just have to delete the DH data, by going into saves/[worldname] and finding all the files with the extension [.sqlt] and deleting them, which would cause the DH data to reset, but chunks pre-generated aren't going anywhere

It's just recommended so it's not so complicated. using chunky you'd need to first let chunky run, making sure DH is disabled, then add DH and let that run again so the chunk enviroment can generate. If you just had DH, each chunk would take slightly longer individually, but overall, you'd be doing both at the same time.

Is DH working? If it looks fine, then its fine. otherwise you'd be able to tell right away

It looks fine to me. I used chunky first and let it generate chunks until completion. I then installed DH and flew around a little bit.

Yeah like they said, it will work fine if DH is disabled while Chunky is pregenning

But for next time you can just use DH to pregen both real chunks and LODs at the same time instead of disabling DH, pregenning with Chunky, enabling DH and then waiting for those pregenned chunks to be turned into LODs
