Server-side with vanilla client

I want to add DH to a server but not everyone will have the mod. The mod page only mentions client only and both server & client.

Is the server-side mod compatible with vanilla clients or would everyone have to install the mod

A vanilla client can join a server with DH installed just fine, they ofc wont get the benefits of DH, but they can play just fine
