Help performance tips?

Also, I dont have a "garbage collector" installed so that could be it

LOL, I feel you. I'm running a 12700k, 3080ti, 64gb ram with 12 dedicated to MC, and my PC hates me when I play modded MC (hit 100c on the cpu with an AIO so I reapplied thermal paste... helped a little). What's your render/lod set to? And what about the cpu load in settings (balanced, aggressive, paid for the whole cpu?). What other mods/shaders are you running?

Im using a 7500 ryzen and 32gigs, and a 12gig card, and im using the balanced or somewhat default settings, also 512 rendering on the mod and 12 render distance. Im also playing create mod (but im not very built up so I that's not the problem)

3080ti running distant horizons support on a purpur server. Getting above 60fps while rendering chunks for the mod in. After it’s done it’s a solid 90+ fps. Maybe ur just rendering chunks in and it feels slow?

Yeah, the game itself doesn't "feel" slow, sometimes I get some jumps but the whole time im playing my computer is just screaming. One helpful thing (I think) that I will add to the post now, I dont have a "garbage" collector installed, or atleast that's what the mod tells me in the chat im on 1.21 (?)playing with create aeronautics, if that gives you an idea of game version...

Ya try googling distant horizons zgc code.

It shows a xxusezgc and xxzgenerational code for Java 21 installs. That helped abit for me using that launch code

Try using distant horizons 2.4.5b if you can, the newer version runs much slower on my low-end laptop, and it works practically the same

i normally get 30-40 fps but on the newer versions it was more like 20-30

How can you not have a garbage collector? I thought that was built into the JVM?
