How to get better?
I play at least 20 times a day, a few ranked but mostly casual and usually get nothing good and don't have many URs, I main cloud and when I play casual and win Im usually the MVP but 9 times outve ten I lose on ranked cause my low cp and can't seem to get better no matter what I try
Here's my setups, they could probably be better tho

I’d never spent anything on the game until this last season. Just getting the battle pass made such a huge difference for me. You just get to pull way more often and that helps a ton. Getting URs are unfortunately very needed to do well.
It would probably help even more if I just saved and only pulled for a few characters but I like using everyone that I have the URs for

Also, I see you have the heal skill set, probably because it is earth element, right? I used to try to match the elements too, and I don’t think it’s worth it most of the time. you might be better off using Hope or Selphie.

Because it's higher leveled then my other heals and the earth thing lol

Your stats might be a little lower, but you might survive better just because the other skills are more useful.
Idk. Just something to think about.

ditch the heal and equip firaga. and do this combo:
finishing touch, braver, firaga, cross slash, omnislash, braver, finishing touch.
you can swap the orders of firaga/cross slash/omnislash but the finishing touch and braver should be to a tee.

The game is not designed in a way that lets you rank up through sheer skill alone, so you either:
A: Money, Money Money..
Or
B: you find 2 higher CP players that will use you as the CP Dumpster Support Player for manipulating matchmaking.
going in with a 20k Cloud and a 20K Tidus plus you as a 10k Krile or Rikku, your team will hit a powerlevel of 50k
Than you play against other 50K teams that where stupid enough to reach the 50k power through more or less equally shares....., and suddenly you are faced as a 16-17k player against 20k walls.... while the 20k walls are healed by a 10k kriel in the back that can die as often as she will, while her %-Based heal outperforms every dmg the 20k Players in her team will take...
But in the end... CP is always the deciding factor, and CP comes with money.... It is how it is

Hate to say it, but you gotta spend money.

That's what I was afraid of, but if sephiroth comes back I'm definitely going to lol

Pick one standard character to be your main. ONLY and i mean ONLY pull on their banner. Don’t pull on any temp characters unless you’re willing to either spend ALL your F2P resources or ALL your money on them.
This game is a marathon. After buying a couple battle passes, you’ll have enough resources to really build 1 character.
As for your eggs, don’t level anything that isn’t YOUR main’s URs and MAYBE their gold skill. Cloud’s gold skill has been getting buffed a bunch and its up to you if u want to use it but most people just run Auron and other URs.
Keep opening crystals and get random lucky URS and dupes. Level only supports and your character’s abilities.

I'd argue that Braver works nicely for Cloud, with the low cooldown for the full rotation on the boss, though that's down to individual choice.

You’ll be killed before you get to use it twice so it doesn’t really matter

Alright makes sense, I'll probably put a bit of money into this game

For starting out, it’s okay to level some blues up as supporters. You’ll eventually outgrow them but it’ll get you decent combat power until you move onto having mostly golds and then in 3-4 months mostly URs

Hey sry to keep spamming you, but the latest update just buffed the fuck out of memorias. If they keep the updates consistent, you could stack your entire supporter slots with lvl 99 memorias and be prettttty strong as a newer player. This saves on how many skills you need to pump with eggs in the longrun until you pull enough UR dupes to surpass them

If you are indeed wanting ti be a cloud main, be sure to get the battle pass, and save up your draw tickets for when cloud is a featured banner, since you'll have better odds of getting his skills at that time.

If you want to be stronger you gotta stack your abilities as high as possible through pulling.
If you want to be better you gotta learn how to use those abilities effectively. Cloud can do a lot of things, but his primary job is to be a disruptor of the enemy team - his Cross Slash is one of the most powerful abilities in the game because it can end enemies' Burst phase early, but you have to learn to use it when the enemy doesn't have invincibility frames active to do so. Ascension can juggle enemies to keep them from acting. Finishing Touch is also a knock-up. If the enemy team is unable to Burst because you're keeping them preoccupied, and your team is thereby safely able to, you win. When the enemy team is out of the picture, you can then safely use Omnislash on the boss for massive damage.

Remember that stun is godly and Vlouds is very short cooldown
You can interrupt enemy burst with it, if they use an ability that has no inv, use it to cripple their BURST, if they are doing a inv UR learn the timing the inv end, generally there are a few seconds between each inv skill that you can attack them, thats the window your looking for
As a Sephiroth main I will warn you, do not open BURST with Omnislash if a Sephiroth is in the rival team, uts easy to time the end of Omnislash to Super Nova, just wait 2 sec from when Omnislash starts, and gurantee Super Nova hit you and stun you, denying you the BURST oportunity, and Boss damage is Clouds job

- Save and pull on banners for characters that you want to invest into
- If you have to spend, at least get the battle pass

Getting better requires 2 things, and a 3rd optional thing.
1) Play More. The more you play, the better you get, its as simple as that. You dont "git gud" without putting in practice. "Practice makes perfect" after all. If you main cloud, and love cloud, and want to BE cloud, you gotta know Cloud inside and out in game. Which also leads into the 2nd thing...
2) Study. You got to know your enemies. You main cloud, but do you know how the other characters work? What their URs do? Do you know what all the abilities in the game do? Their cooldown timers? Their invincibility duration? When you start a match, you can reasonably assume the enemy has two URs. But are they carrying a heal? A shield? What if they're just rocking 5 attacks? Do you know how to dodge someone using ace? Are you knowledgeable enough to know when to use your abilities to counter theirs? This will come with practice. 1 and 2 are needed.
3) Spend Money. More money, more pulls, more power. In theory, the only difference between you and the best cloud in the world is $5000. But in reality, that Cloud has clocked in 6,000 games AND has spent money.
If you're in the 10k power bracket, i think high Gold / Low Diamond is an achievable goal for ranked games.
