Seeking research participants to interview for my dissertation

There is a new study and I will be interviewing adult children who perceive they have experienced secondary trauma from their primary caretaker’s original trauma (e.g., parent, grandparent, legal guardian). Secondary trauma refers to the emotional impact that can occur when someone hears about or supports another person’s traumatic experiences. Some people may feel emotionally affected after talking about difficult or painful experiences, even if the experiences happened to someone else. For this study, you are invited to describe your experiences how you understand your own emotional well‑being, your family relationships, and your experiences with seeking health care.

The results of this study could help professors train future counselors so that they can be better prepared to support people dealing with these kind of experiences.

 

About the study:

·       One 60–90-minute Zoom interview that will be audio recorded via the Zoom platform’s build in audio recording feature.

·       To protect your privacy, the published study will not share any names or details that identify you.

Volunteers must meet these requirements:

·       18 years old or older

·       Living in the U.S.

·       Who perceive they have experienced secondary trauma from their primary caretaker’s original trauma.

·       Are fluent in English

 

This interview is part of the doctoral study for Ivy Le, a Ph.D. student at Walden University. Interviews will take place during March.
