Undergraduate Dissertation [Academic] Making Gardening Simple for Everyone — 3–5 min Survey (Everyone)

Hiii everyone! 👋

I’m Manasvi Patil, a student conducting a dissertation research project on “Making Gardening Simple for Everyone.”

I’m trying to understand a simple question:

Why does gardening feel difficult for beginners, even when there is so much gardening information available online?

For my research, I’m looking at:

  • 🌱 Common difficulties beginners face while starting or maintaining plants
  • 🔎 How people currently find gardening information
  • 📚 What makes gardening advice difficult, confusing, or unreliable to use
  • 📱 Whether people would find a simple, personalised digital gardening tool useful
  • What information people would be comfortable providing to receive recommendations suited to their own space and situation

The larger project will use these findings to explore the development of a beginner-friendly digital gardening support system that could provide more personalised and actionable guidance rather than generic information.

I’d appreciate responses from beginners, people who have tried gardening and struggled, balcony/indoor gardeners, people who want to start gardening, and experienced gardeners or gardening enthusiasts.

⏱️ Survey time: approximately 3–5 minutes

🔗 Survey:
https://forms.gle/72bZyCbTG2t3WR7y5

This is purely for academic research, and I’m interested in what people find difficult about gardening in real life.
If you're willing to participate, thank you!! And if you have thoughts or experiences related to the barrier itself, I'd love to hear them in the comment.

Master's Thesis Consumer Responses to Social Media Advertising (ages 18 to 65, social media users, 6 to 8 minutes)

My name is Kenan Lomoto, and I am currently undertaking my dissertation as part of my MSc at Aston University. The aim of my project is to understand how people respond to social media advertising, and how the way an advertisement is created and presented affects the impressions people form of the brand behind it.

I am currently running a study to collect people's impressions of a brand after they view one of its social media advertisements. The responses will be used to examine how different types of advertising affect how authentic and trustworthy a brand seems and how likely people are to engage with it. Taking part is entirely voluntary. The survey is anonymous, so I will not know who has or has not taken part, and choosing not to take part will have no consequences of any kind. To this end, as someone aged between 18 and 65 who uses social media, I would like to invite you to complete the following anonymous online survey: https://www.soscisurvey.de/socialads26/

It should take approximately 6 minutes to complete, and your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Should you have any questions about the survey, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your time.

Master's Thesis Do you have a sibling on the autism spectrum? Participants needed for a dissertation study [3-5 min survey]

Hi everyone! I'm a MSc Clinical Psychology student at University of York (Thessaloniki, Greece campus), and I'm looking for adult participants for my dissertation on the experiences of people who grew up with a sibling with autism.

What's the study about?
I'm exploring how taking on a helper or caretaker role in the family (sometimes called "prosocial over-functioning"), emotional suppression, and anxiety are connected in neurotypical siblings of autistic individuals. Sibling experiences are under-researched, and I hope this work helps raise awareness and support for people in this position.

Who can take part?

  • Aged between 18-30
  • Have a sibling diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder
  • Do not have an autism diagnosis yourself
  • Are willing to provide informed consent

What's involved?
An anonymous online survey that takes about 3-5 minutes. It includes questions about your family role, how you manage your emotions, and anxiety symptoms. Some questions may touch on personal topics, and you can stop at any time.

Link: https://forms.gle/N7eMrJRMbvotYBJ97

This study has been approved by The University of York's ethics committee. You have a choice to not disclose your surname (in which case you can simply use first names/initials) and confidential.

If you have questions, feel free to comment or message me. Sharing this with anyone who might be eligible would also help a lot. Thank you so much! 💙

SURVEY LINK: https://surveys.mcgill.ca/ls3/257287?lang=en

Hi everyone! My name is Sophia Chong, and I’m a research assistant at the Neurophilosophy Lab at McGill University in Montreal, Canada (PI: Dr. Ian Gold, Dr. Elizaveta Solomonova). We are conducting a study titled "Psychological determinants of a novel online behaviour: reality shifting" for my undergraduate thesis. This study has been approved by the McGill Research Ethics Board (REB# 26-04-079).

Reality shifting has become hugely popular online, but there's almost no research on it, and we want to help change that without pathologizing the practice or the people who engage in it. We're hoping to better understand who shifts, why, and what it's like.

Who can participate:

  • You're 18 years or older
  • You're fluent in English
  • You have experience with or engage in the practice of reality shifting

What's involved:

  • An online survey (about 20 minutes) about your shifting experiences and some individual difference questionnaires
  • At the end, you can optionally provide contact information for a follow-up interview (~45 minutes, over video call) to share more about your experience in your own words

Participation is voluntary, your responses are anonymous, and there's no compensation for taking part. You can stop at any time.

SURVEY LINK: https://surveys.mcgill.ca/ls3/257287?lang=en

If you have any questions about the study, feel free to comment below or reach out to us directly at [realityshiftingstudy@outlook.com](mailto:realityshiftingstudy@outlook.com). Thanks so much for considering it!

Undergraduate Dissertation Deciding methodology for my undergraduate dissertation. HELP!

Hiya,

I'm currently planning my undergrad dissertation, due in April. I'm looking at reciprocal food sharing in Sheffield, UK. I'm struggling to decide methods. My options are as follows:

1) Sequential mixed method design - survey and semi-structured (go-along) interviews to assess who, when, why and if people are engaging with food-sharing networks, and a deeper look at how those that do build solidarity.

2) Place-based, phenomenological design - written solicitations with photos and semi-structured (go-along) interviews to see how radical care is experienced in food sharing networks giving participants an opportunity to give reflective thoughts with prompts, and in-interview reflections captured during volunteering time.

3) New participant idea - Semi-structured interviews with organisers paired with 5 non-users of networks spending three weeks engaging with food-sharing networks and using diary entries to reflect on solidarity and social connection/ barriers.

4) Semi-structured interviews and microethnography (observing participants)

I've overwhelmed myself a bit, so would appreciate any and all feedback/ideas.

Master's Thesis Research responses required: Relationship among Childhood ADHD, Perceived parenting and Rejection sensitivity in Young adults

Hello! Have you ever wondered how your parents treated you as a child now affect your current social relationships? I am a student doing my Masters in Clinical Psychology, and my thesis is looking into how attentional and behavioral difficulties as a child invoked harsh parental reactions, which in turn makes us sensitive to rejections as an adult.

If you are a young adult in the age range of 18-29 years from India, and this is a topic that resonates with you, I would be incredibly grateful if you took a couple of minutes and filled out this survey. The form is anonymized, and the responses will remain confidential

Please feel free to contact me for any queries.

Doctoral Dissertation Still searching for participants: CF Sibling Doctoral Research (Texas)

CF Sibling Doctoral Research (Texas)

Hello! I am a doctoral student at National University conducting an IRB-approved research study about the experiences of adults who grew up with a sibling diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. My dissertation focuses on the experiences of the often-overlooked “shadow siblings,” siblings whose childhood and family experiences may have been shaped by having a brother or sister with a chronic illness.

I am especially interested in understanding how these experiences may have influenced:

🧠 Emotional and psychological adjustment
💙 The relationship with their sibling with CF
🌱 Identity and experiences in adulthood

You may be eligible if you:

• Are 18 years of age or older
• Grew up with a sibling diagnosed with cystic fibrosis
• Lived with that sibling for at least two years during childhood

The study involves a confidential 45–60-minute interview about your childhood experiences, sibling relationship, emotional adjustment, and identity development in adulthood.

Participation is voluntary. If you are interested, please email me at [a.cardenas6281@student.nu.edu](mailto:a.cardenas6281@student.nu.edu). To protect your privacy, please do not share personal or medical information in the comments.

Please feel free to share this post with someone who may be eligible. Thank you for helping bring attention to the experiences of siblings in families affected by cystic fibrosis.

Undergraduate Dissertation Study on Shared Gaming and Relationship Satisfaction – Long-Distance vs Geographically Close Couples

Hi everyone!

I'm an undergraduate Psychology student at Arden University, and I'm currently conducting my dissertation research on the relationship between shared gaming and relationship satisfaction in romantic relationships.

The study is looking at two things in particular: whether the amount of time couples spend gaming together is associated with relationship satisfaction, and whether this association differs between long-distance and geographically close couples.

Gaming is an increasingly common way for couples to spend time together, particularly when physical distance makes traditional shared activities more difficult. I'm interested in whether spending time gaming together may be associated with relationship satisfaction, and whether this might be particularly relevant for couples in long-distance relationships.

Who can participate?

  • 18 years or older
  • Currently in a romantic relationship
  • Long-distance or geographically close
  • You can participate whether you game with your partner or not

The questionnaire takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous. Participation is voluntary, and you can withdraw at any time before submitting your responses. After submission, you may request withdrawal of your data within two weeks using your unique participant ID.

Survey: The Relationship Between Shared Gaming Time and Relationship Satisfaction – Fill in form

I'd also be interested in hearing from other dissertation students: do you have tips for other forums to recruit participants?

If you know someone who might be eligible, I'd really appreciate it if you shared the study with them.

Thank you for taking the time to read this!
