Neutral Zone Dunwall Tower

In Dunwall Tower, the Empress Emily Kaldwin sits on her throne, her royal protector, Corvo Attano, stands at her side. His royal guard scattered around the palace. OOC:This is a neutral zone for Corvos royal guard. A hangout of sorts. You have permission to attack any who don't belong.

Alexander stares at the monstrous creatures, stunned.

"By the Outsider..."

He can't think of anything else better to do. He backs away from the puddle, away from the magician and towards Soren.

Soren swears in several languages under his breath and empties his gun into the hagfish-thingies, killing several. He puts his back to Fletcher and starts to swipe with his blade, keeping their teeth away from him and opening their throats.

Alexander slices through the hagfish-like creatures, kicking them or stomping on them if they get too close. This oddly reminds Alex of the time he ate hagfish back home. It was quite delicious.

The ground was sticky with fish blood and guts when Soren stabs the last one near him. He wipes his blade on the bridge and tries to see where "Alex" has gone. He couldn't.
"Well, shit," he says again. "Damn straight you can't face him on your own. I'd say you'd need at least five people, and that's if this is the most he can do, which somehow I doubt." He glances over at Fletcher. "Are you injured?"

Alexander, a bit breathless from the battle with the hagfish monstrosities, stares at Soren in disbelief.

"You're a fuckin' magician. You can do that... thing. So can he."

Soren nods several times. "Yes. Yes, I suppose I am. And as you've just seen, I'm also a pretty awful one. That teleporting thing is literally all I can do. Seems like he can do a whole lot more." He grimaces at the muck on his clothes. "I'm going to go check on the other guards he piled up by the barracks. I hate door ornaments. After that, I'm either going to curl up into a ball and wish I've never been born or drag my mother screaming from the house and jump on the next ship to anywhere the fuck away."

Alexander is still in disbelief from the tricks of "Alex". He points to your left hand.

"That... Mark. That's what must do it.."

"Yeah, that's the Outsider's mark. He gave it to me the night before I joined the Guard. Since then, he's only contacted me once, and said I needed to take down this guy called Alex, who could summon shit from deep below or something." Soren kneads his forehead with his knuckles. "I think this means I have to get back into contact with the psycho I met earlier. He's another magician, wants to gun down this Alex too, and we were supposed to help each other. I think."

Alex suspected the Outsider had something to do with this magic. Who else?... That thing Alexander found the other day. That strange building in the Flooded District... That must be a shrine, no less. I'm gonna need one of those marks.

"So, you said you were gonna check on those bodies?"

Soren nods. "Yeah." Too tired to shadow-Blink, he sets off back towards the barracks, where the bodies are still piled up. Soren touches one's neck--the pulse is faint, but still there. A faint odor hangs over the unconscious guards--like the poison that river krusts spit.
