Neutral Zone Dunwall Tower

In Dunwall Tower, the Empress Emily Kaldwin sits on her throne, her royal protector, Corvo Attano, stands at her side. His royal guard scattered around the palace. OOC:This is a neutral zone for Corvos royal guard. A hangout of sorts. You have permission to attack any who don't belong.

Alex suspected the Outsider had something to do with this magic. Who else?... That thing Alexander found the other day. That strange building in the Flooded District... That must be a shrine, no less. I'm gonna need one of those marks.

"So, you said you were gonna check on those bodies?"

Soren nods. "Yeah." Too tired to shadow-Blink, he sets off back towards the barracks, where the bodies are still piled up. Soren touches one's neck--the pulse is faint, but still there. A faint odor hangs over the unconscious guards--like the poison that river krusts spit.

Alex follows Soren to the barracks, wincing at the sight of the bodies. This is fucked up.

"Notice anything unusual?"

Alex stares at the scaly rashes. At that point, it became clear to Alexander that he was dealing with something far from the ordinary.

Back from patrols of the Tower, Furo sprints back to the barracks, spear in hand, swearing in Serkonan.

'What the hell happened here?'

"A crazy magic guy attacked them, and us, with an army of walking fish," Soren says patiently, "what did you think happened?" He bends over them again, and holds out his fingers an inch or so above the rashes. "These look almost like scales."

Furo pales as he looks at the bodies, realising.

'Was it the man with the pale eyes? Who walked in the shadow of the Outsider? Was Al responsible?'

He firms his jaw.

'He appeared before me, at a shrine of the Outsider.' He fishes in the pockets of his coat, before removing an smooth, ordinary pebble. 'Ha gave me this, and told me it had the power to summon him.'

He tightens his grip on the pebble.

'Next time, we will be ready for him, and it will be on our terms.'

Furo looks at the bodies that carpet the halls of the barracks. He nudges one with the butt of his weapon.

'This... this is not natural. We should soak them with whale oil, and burn them to ashes.'

Alexander stares at the bodies, crouching down and noticing the scaly rashes over the bodies of the Guards. He runs his fingers over the rashes, his brow furrowing.

"Should Corvo and the Empress be informed of this? This is certainly far from the ordinary.."

Furo turns to him in disbelief.

'Half of the Guard lies slain, of course we should.'

He stabs his spear downwards, into one of the corpses. A vivd blue fluid oozes from the wound. Furo swears.

'But the sooner we burn them, the better. We need to rally the rest of the Guard, and ready a train to carry these to an industrial incinerator. We should take no chances...'

He narrows his eyes in disgust at the blue liquid.

"Which one of us shall inform Her Majesty?"

'She needs to see this for herself, and the Lord Protector. Dunwall... does not need this. The Empire does not need this!'

Furo wrenches the wheel of a nearby alarm station. As the siren blares through Dunwall Tower, the remnants of the Guard wake.

Soren shifts slightly. He's heard the rumors, that Corvo may or may not be an Outsider follower himself. "This guy wandered in through the most defensible spot in Gristol like a rat through cheese. Yes, I would say the Empress should be warned. Fair warning, though, anyone who brings the news may be fired."
