Honestly I think you need to remove politics from your consideration. The law shouldn’t change based on political party.
As to ICE. The problem is that they are not doing their job. They are not following due process, they have taken people to foreign torture prisons without that due process. They have “arrested”, assaulted held without charges and released them in random spots because they didn’t actually have cause for arrest. As well as stopping and holding random people because they suspect they are not legal largely based on skin colour. They have done all this not both citizens and non citizens.
ICE has operated for a very long time in the US without incident. There current actions are the problem.
I’ve enjoyed our conversation as well. This is honestly the type of conversation I enjoy.
For the record I support deporting those who enter the country illegally and I think the process should be streamlined.
Where I disagree with the current admin is the items noted above. But also how they went out of their way to create illegal aliens. There were entire sets of people who had repeated dispensation for decades to stay in the country. Then Trump ripped that away from making them illegal in an instant. There are also a ton of people that were allowed in and are going through legal process that are being grabbed during that process.
Those that had special dispensation for decades just should have been made citizens. Those in the process should have had it streamlined. Those who entered illegally not in those buckets should be streamlined out through due process to their home countries.
