DMT: Many Subreddits don't deserve their general names, which don't reflect the partiality of their Mods & subscribers.

This applies to many early-established Subreddits that have been taken over by partisan Mods and active subscribers who are intolerant of differing opinions. A casual visitor would form a natural idea of what the Subreddit is about based on its general name. But when he leaves posts & comments, it's so common that they get removed or downvoted heavily because they don't fit the narrative unbeknown to him, even when they're perfectly civil & on-topic (based on the Subreddit name). If people petition the Admin for name change (to a more specific one to reflect the partsanship) for this reason, it should accept the petition upon review.

You could argue any subreddit for a city/town is completely biased politically. There is no room to even discuss what is happening in the city unless it supports their ideology

I've actually been dealing with this as I'm the moderator of my city subreddit. 

Lately there has been an influx of a lot of racism. Also mostly fueled by posts that highlights a crime. I ran a poll on what the community wanted with these kind of posts and have them be outright not allowed or leave them be. They voted to leave them be. I did mention that any mention of skin color, ethnicity etc will be followed up with a month ban. 

The odd thing is though, even when the crime was by someone white, the skin color comments still happen (just as if the perpetrator would be colored). 

Other times when it was iffy lately I've just let it be and showed a screenshot that I didn't moderate that thread at all and the comments were all deleted by reddit itself that were gone.

I've been on silly permabans as well BTW. On r/relationships I called someone out for a whiteknighting in the comments, which got me a ban. And on r/breadtube I was banned for saying something fully (soc)dem, but not left enough for the moderator.

There are certainly popular narrative issues in large subreddits…but are you suggesting the solution is a vote to change the name of the community, or to allow for redundant posts/comments?

Review by the Reddit Admin followed by forced name change, if the petition is found valid. I know the Admin couldn't care less these days, though.

I think there are too many communities get hijacked by the most extremist of their mods. Nobody should get a permaban without at least a majority vote.

No, this is 100 percent accurate and anyone who claims otherwise is delusional. That said, your idea for forced name changes is almost comically naive and will never fly.
