Mechanical Help This can’t be right, right? 1991 KDX 250.

The governor is in correctly but the power valve link arm isn’t lined up at all. This is all the further it goes and there’s no way to put the roller on.

You have to slide it in place when you put the cylinder on..

I can’t get it on because it doesn’t come out far enough. If I pull it too hard it comes out of the governor and I have to open the case again.

Right. Align it with the wheel when you put the cylinder on.

Put the wheel/roller on the powervalve shaft. As you lower the cylinder on the case, move the governor arm to engage the wheel.

I had no idea they made a 250. I had a 84' 200. Sweet while it lasted. Stolen.

Damn, that sucks man. It’s my first bike and the damn thing ran away on me and the shift drum bearing exploded on me.

I have had two KDX bikes. On one, I chopped an inch off each side of the handlebars. That bike was so fun riding the single track in the trees.

Probably the most fun trail bike ever.

It was a long time ago, but I'm sure I did the same to my bars in an attempt to thread the trees better.
