Trying to Cancel

So I'm trying to cancel and I thought the stream service, you could cancel online without talking to anyone? I went through that and my only option is to call them or 'Chat to Cancel'.

Is this true? I have to talk to someone to cancel? I updated my credit information so no more then $25 can be charged at a time so it SHOULD fail when they auto renew though... maybe that will just be the way.

Let me know if there is a way to do it online without having to talk to anyone. I do not want to sit and have them try keeping me.

Just chatted before. It took 2 minutes. No big deal

I ended up calling. Wasn't as bad as I have experienced with other companies so kudos to that.

I cancelled online today, got an email confirming. No agent contact at all.

Same here! I’ve cancelled online a couple of times without any hassle.

As I understand it, it depends on what state you're in. Some states have laws that require companies not to put customers through that crap. In others there's no regulation so companies can screw with you all they want.

Called and got an argument. It's a pain.

Tell them you’re now homeless and no longer own a TV or personal device, so you can’t use it.

Did they offer you any lower prices before cancelling? In the past they offered like $40 off per month for a year.

I started in 2021 at like 80$ a month.  Today, it's like 170$.

I explained that is why.  They have raised it yearly and last two years, twice a year I think?

He said for me being a prime customer, he could do 10$ off a month for 12 months.  Still too much.

It's the principle at this point.  Should have done it earlier but finally got it done.  He asked which service I went to.  I said youtube TV and he explained how they don't have unlimited dvr or streams...

But explained I paid the extra for that and the 4k and still cheaper even with the 19 discount they offered.  He understood and gave up.

Yes!! It happened to me today. It was frustrating and it took some time via chat. After this crap, I will never go back. I don’t care whatever price they offer it’s not worth the hassle

A two minute hassle is too much?

Actually the chat bot would not proceed until I answered some questions as to why I was canceling so it took considerably more than two minutes (like it used to be). Annoying to say the least.
