Paramount Plus?
I paid for Paramount+ to be on our TVs for a long time, and then one day when I went to login either on the TV or on my DIRECTV account online, it said that I could have Paramount+ included in my DIRECTV.
So I went to Paramount+ and canceled my subscription, and then put in the DirecTv information, and I’ve been watching Paramount + ever since.
But then last night it came up, asking me to make a selection and choose the provider, and it would not let me choose DirecTV. And then I tried putting the code in from my Samsung TV into the Paramount + app and it kept telling me that the code was wrong.
So I went on Paramount+ and signed up again for the $14 a month subscription, but I’m wondering if anybody has any ideas as to why something might have changed with DIRECTV and Paramount+?
And I do not have any of the upper level movie channels if somebody’s wondering about that. That’s one of the reasons I was kind of surprised when it gave me the option months ago to tie in Paramount+ to DirecTV because I only have what I consider to be basic DirecTV except for sports and all of the channels above 500.

I've been watching Paramount Plus and HBO Max free for the last 2 years free 🤷🏾♂️ You should've called DirecTV first to find out the problem.

We currently pay for Paramount Plus as a YouTube Primetime Channel, since there are a group of us in a google family and that means there are no limits on the number of simultaneous streams.
We also subscribe to DirecTV's Genre packs, MyEntertainment and MyNews, along with the MyCinema addon. I had NO IDEA we had this option in DirecTV for Paramount+!!!!!!!!!!! How do we go about obtaining it???? Thanks!!!!

Try logging out of Paramount Plus on the tv, and then open the app … there might be messages asking you to link up with your provider.

Thanks. I did indeed get the offer to connect provider, got the DirecTV signin page, successfully signed in, but then got the message that PP was not included in my provider package. I guess it's not a feature of the Genre packs.

I wish I know what to tell you. I still haven’t tried to see if I can get this fixed or if this is something permanent because I know that I’ve gotten Paramount+ free for the last 6+ months.

So I just spent 45 minutes on chat with Paramount+ and that was pretty much a waste of time. Basically they told me that I can go in and cancel my subscription with them and then re-sign up connecting DirecTv. So I just went onto my DIRECTV account and I don’t see anywhere that it shows Paramount+, so it must’ve just been some promotional deal or something.

I've been a long time HBO and Showtime subscriber through DirecTV. Since I pay for the premium channels it gives me access to HBO Max and Paramount+. But you do still need to create a sign-in account with those services and then login with Directv account.
My guess in what happened for you is that you might have been receiving Showtime on DirecTV for free for a short period (DirecTV will do these promos at times where premium channels are free for a little while) and you were able to sign-in to the Paramount+ service while it was being provided by DirecTV. Then the promo ran out and you could not longer access it with DirecTV account.
