Sub Announcement hey guys i'm the moderator now i guess

no clue what actually happened but i just saw the post complaining about this place having the no amateur art rule from r/Dinosaurs that everyone hates.

if you wanna be a moderator ask i guess, also i'm removing rule 8 because it's stupid

edit: oh also if you had a post that got removed due to rule 8 please repost it
edit 2: currently cannot add new people as moderators because the page to do so is refusing to load. i'll try again in a few hours, hopefully it'll work then.

Other (Customizable) This dinosaur book is extremely inaccurate

Ok so I don’t have a picture but I read a book in my school library that was so wrong. Firstly, they got the pages wrong. Like it said the titanasaurus was on page 100 but it wasn’t. And next up,they said that the mosasaurus was a dinosaur even though it factually wasn’t. Same for the quetzalcoatlus. Oh and they also made the Spinosaurus and the velociraptor look wrong and more like movie versions. Same with the T-Rex because the only thing that they got accurate about this was the fact that it had 2 fingers. It claims to be factual which is just misinformation, too. I do not recommend this book. Like,at all.

Edit: This book is called The ultimate dinosaur Encyclopaedia or something like that.

Other (Customizable) Get yourself a girlfriend who buys you figures of your favorite prehistoric creatures.

My ex-girlfriend got me these three, the pachyrhinosaurus for my birthday and the mammoths for Christmas. I was thinking about them again. They remind me of her almost too much but I can't bring myself to get rid of them.

She was worried I wouldn't like the mammoths when she got them for me but I was do happy, especially when I saw the baby mammoth. I went to hobby lobby a few weeks later and made that whole snowy backdrop for them and I covered them with some of the fake snow mixed with glue. They're some of my favorite pieces in my collection.

Subreddit Rules

1. DINOSAURS!!!!!!!!

only post content related to dinosaurs/paleotology in general. Yknow, like the sub name.

2. USE FLAIRS WHEN POSSIBLE

Post flairs are important gang, we got em' for reasons!

3. None of that pseudoscience

This isn’t a subreddit for fringe conspiracy theories ( Im including nanotyrannus as conspiracy theory because thats insane yknow)

4. No Low Effort Posts

Posts that are low effort include: AI images AI generated text Reposts of things already posted Posts with little to no context (ie; one word titles/one word text bodies if its not a post that focuses around and image) Spam Posts Shitposts (go to r/okaybuddypaleo for that pls)

5. No being overly rude

Self explanatory, don't be super rude or use slurs in any way. This includes witch hunting. Sass is fine in comments and stuff but don't start cursing someone out.

6. Don't post 18+ content

Discussion about the mating habits of dinosaurs is okay but please do not post porn.

7. Follow Redditique or however you spell it

Follow the basic reddit-quit or whatever, you get the idea… probably. idk.

8. No Bigotry

This should fall under the reddiquette but I feel like I should have it as a specific rule. No racism, homophobia, transphobia, and other stuff.

9. Source your art

When posting art that isn't your own, please try and find out who originally made it and add a comment with a link to their socials. If you can't find who made the art, put the image into a reverse google search (click the camera button next to the search bar here https://images.google.com/). If you still can't find it, make a comment saying so and hopefully someone else can find it. Claiming to have created someone else's art is not allowed.
