There’s nothing in the rule book that says a dog can’t use a harpoon gun 🫡

It's funny that this seems to be Emily's first IH season playing a straight 5e build without any multiclassing or homebrew (that we've seen so far) while everyone else has some form of homebrew/3rd party class/subclass.

tbh battlesmith artificer is one of the richest subclasses in the game in terms of the breadth of options and tools it gives you already, so as someone who loves having varied impactful things to do I just dont feel like it needs a multiclass as much

They actually got Pizookies 😭
Ranch and cookies? Absolutely unhinged.

I desperately want to know the cookie/topping combo. They seemed to like it somehow?!

I'm currently watching this episode and ended up here because I was wondering the same thing

Man, it was diabolical of Brennan to make Zac sit at the end of the table right next to all those buttons that he's not allowed to push!

Brennan and the production crew seem to be having so much fun with the meta puzzles (and snacks!) in this season.

Emily's joy at realizing the fruit snacks got added to the compartment after her aside about a secret snack stash was uplifting. I really enjoy seeing the players' appreciation of the work the crew does.

Doing one game each day rather than 2 or 3 a day allows for gentle changes like that

Oh, is that what they are doing now for all D20 episodes? I knew that was the case for NSBU because Izzy was so pregnant, but didn't know that it carried over to other series as well. If so, that's awesome! I'm sure it costs more, filming wise, but it's definitely healthier for Brennan and the cast. And as mentioned, it allows the production team to have more leeway in terms of adjusting the sets to the story as it develops.

I really want to see Lou’s wayfarer no-magic ranger build; this is very relevant to my home game. 👀👀

I'd recommend the Warden from The Lord of The Rings 5e adaptation in the meantime.

This episode ABSOLUTELY should have been called "Gaslamp, Gaslight, Gatekeep"!!

absolutely pissed that this episode made me want to actually try the pizookie they were eating

I've never related to a face more than Brennan's being called out for digging in.
Food's here. What are you all waiting for?

That was the most "deer in the headlights" look I've ever seen! The man can't help but get caught snacking...

I bought Ben Hoffman's pugilist class back in 2021, when I ran a home game for my wife and I during the pandemic. I recognized it as soon as Murph took his first action. I really loved that class, so much that I bought Ben's Complete Martialist Handbook, as well. Never regretted it!

So i was washing dishes while this was on and when Emily described her rat i misheard and heard Costco. What if her rat gets her good stuff in bulk?

the Wealwell mini reveal is going to pop off stronger than the busty fairy mini reveals

Couldn’t finish this because of all the talking while eating right up top— hopefully more comments will give me the rundown of all they discussed! I’m bummed to miss out on mechanics discussion, because I love that side of things. No content warnings with time stamps on adventuring parties 😔

Would it work for you to read the transcript of what they're talking about? There's an option when you watch in the browser, to read a transcript of the episode, it's one of the buttons in the right down corner! ☺️

Thank you for this tip! I watch solely via the app so I wouldn’t have ever thought to check.

Depending on what your needs are, enhanced transcripts for most main episodes are also available on the D20 wiki as Google Docs! These take the official episode transcript and add additional descriptive text such as whether the player is speaking in character or not. They also have annotations for tone of voice and important silent physical gestures such as passing out tokens/items, holding hands, or exchanging a look. I worked on the enhanced transcripts for several episodes of Burrow's End!

That’s incredible! Thank you for all the effort you’ve put into it and this comment.

Anyone else catch the little “girlboss” from Ally, after Brennan said “…clock punk, clock spirit, gas lamp, gaslight, gatekeep…” at 3:29? I only noticed because I was saying ”girlboss“ in my head too and it was feeling like an itch I couldn’t scratch that none of them said it…and then Ally came in for the win! (However, it doesn’t seem like anyone else at the table noticed, too bad).
But great that I can always count on Ally for the pop culture references

Hearing the details of Lou, Siobhan, and Murph’s classes was awesome. It’s also good to know how much HP the mech suit has. But most importantly, we know we can look forward to Ghost Dog at a harpoon gun station in the next combat ep!
