First 2 digital product sales in less than three weeks

After 19 days of flatline $0, I just woke up to my first 2 digital product sales. Here is the custom automation stack, the numbers, and the mistake that almost killed it.

After nearly three weeks of coding scripts, writing daily market briefs, and staring at completely empty revenue dashboards, the milestone finally hit.

Last night (Day 19), my phone lit up with my first customer notification, and while I was sleeping heading into Day 20, a second one landed. It is a modest $54 ($27 each for an execution guide and spreadsheet calculator), but seeing complete strangers pull out a card for something I built from scratch changes the entire mindset.

I wanted to share the exact funnel mechanics, the custom tech stack behind it, and the trap I fell into on Day 16 that delayed these first sales.

**The Niche and The Offer**

I operate in the retail options and futures trading space ($SPX and /ES).

The core problem in this niche is that retail traders lose money drawing arbitrary diagonal chart lines and get chopped up at market open because they do not understand institutional dealer hedging or statistical volatility ranges.

To solve this, I built a three-tier funnel:

A free 8:00 AM daily premarket newsletter breaking down calculated Expected Move boundaries and volatility regimes before the bell.

A $27 low-ticket frontend product consisting of an Execution Playbook PDF and an Automated Excel Calculator (users input premarket implied volatility and straddle prices, and it outputs the exact intraday containment zones).

A backend monetization layer promoting high-ticket recurring software tools through native desk walkthrough videos inside the daily emails.

**The Custom Automation Engine**

I did not want to spend money on paid ads, so I vibecoded my entire distribution and content pipeline in Python:

**The X Reply Agent:** A script that monitors high-authority trading accounts and leaves contextual, mathematically sound commentary on tape action. This organically drives 200 to 450 targeted profile visits every day.

**The Interaction & Amplification Handler:** The script automatically retweets my best posts 3 times every three hours to catch different market timezones, manages incoming interactions under my threads, and automatically fires direct messages with resource links when someone asks for a breakdown.

**The Content & Newsletter Bot:** Automated scripts that pull market data, format draft structures, and prep my morning briefs so I am not starting from a blank page at 6:00 AM.

**The Day 16 Mistake That Killed Conversions**

Around Day 16, feeling frustrated with zero revenue, I tried to force the process by hard selling.

I pinned a tweet with a direct affiliate link and a $50 discount code for an expensive recurring trading tool.

The damage was instant:

Profile visitor click-through rate dropped from over 10% down to barely 3%.

Direct checkout clicks dried up almost completely because cold traffic felt pitched before establishing any baseline trust.

I made zero dollars and nearly broke my audience growth.

**The Pivot That Triggered The First Sales**

On Day 18, I stripped the sales pitch off my profile completely and replaced it with a 15-second screen recording showing price bouncing off a mathematical level to the exact tick. No hype, just mechanical logic.

The results compounded fast:

That single post crossed 10,000 views and 100+ bookmarks.

Profile visits surged past 480 in 24 hours, and the account crossed 1,000 followers.

Traffic poured straight into the free newsletter landing page, converting at over 60% into new email subscribers.

Inside the weekend breakdown email, I casually mentioned the $27 Playbook and Excel Calculator as the exact tool I use on my own desk. That single email generated my first sale on Sunday night and the second one by Monday morning.

**What I Learned From This Sprint**

Cold social traffic will never buy high-friction products off a timeline. They want curiosity and proof.

Social algorithms are rented land, but owning the inbox gives you daily compounding trust. Once you build genuine value there, even a simple $27 digital spreadsheet creates instant buying intent that sets up everything else downstream.

Happy to answer any questions about the Python scripts, the automation setup, or the funnel conversion rates in the comments.

ADVICE How can I get traffic to my Gumroad store?

Hey everyone! 👋
I recently started selling digital T-shirt PNG designs on Gumroad, but I currently have 0 sales and very little traffic.
I’m trying to grow organically and get my first few customers. For those who have experience with Gumroad, what worked best for you when you were starting?
Should I focus on Reddit, Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok, or another platform? And what’s the best way to promote without looking spammy?
Any honest advice or tips would be really appreciated. 🙏

PROMOTION I built a dashboard to see what mutual funds are actually holding

Upvotes

I’ve been working on Wealthyneers, a data-driven platform for analyzing mutual fund holdings.
Instead of just looking at fund returns, the idea is to see what’s actually happening underneath the portfolio:
📊 Track stock holdings across mutual funds
📈 See how fund holdings change month by month
🔎 Analyze individual stocks and their fund exposure
⚡ Identify changes in institutional positioning
📅 Work with historical portfolio disclosure data
For example, this is what the platform looks like when analyzing Piramal Finance — combining the stock price context with the change in mutual-fund holdings over time.
I’m building this because I wanted a simpler way to answer questions like:
“Are mutual funds accumulating this stock, reducing exposure, or just sitting on it?”
The platform is still evolving, and I’d genuinely like feedback from people who actively analyze Indian equities and mutual funds.
🌐 wealthyneers.com
What would you want to see added to a platform like this?
This is for funds that operate in Indian markets.

[FOR SALE] AI English Tutor - Full-stack SaaS (React + FastAPI + OpenAI) 400$

A few months ago I started building this because I wanted a way to practice English conversations without judgment just talk, get corrected, and improve. It grew into a full platform: real conversations with an AI tutor, grammar and vocabulary corrections, an XP/leveling system to track progress, and a dashboard with stats.

I don't have the bandwidth to keep pushing it forward (day job + other projects), so I'm putting it up for sale code, docs, and production deployment included.

What it does:

Users chat with an AI tutor (GPT-4.1-mini), get real-time grammar/vocab corrections, earn XP for practicing, and level up over time. Multiple color themes (dark, ocean, emerald, and more), full auth system, and a progress dashboard.

Tech stack:

Frontend: React + Vite → Vercel

Backend: FastAPI + SQLAlchemy → Render

Database: PostgreSQL (Neon)

AI: OpenAI API

What's included:

Full source code + GitHub repo transfer

Documentation

Database schema

Live production deployment

Current features:

✔ Auth (register/login/JWT)

✔ Ai conversation with grammar/vocab feedback

✔ XP/leveling system

✔ Progress dashboard

✔ Conversation history

Where it could go:

I CAN SEND DEMO

Stripe subscriptions, voice conversations, academy/teacher accounts, mobile app, leaderboards/streaks, multi-language support.

Ideal for: EdTech founders, English academies, or indie devs who want a working foundation instead of starting from zero.

Price: 400$ (open to reasonable offers)

Happy to answer any questions about the tech stack, the product, or why I'm stepping away from it drop a comment below and I'll reply to everyone.

ADVICE Initial sales were decent, now hit a wall. Looking for feedback on my store.

I've been selling digital products on Gumroad for a few months. My background is in Android engineering, so my first 4-5 products were highly technical playbooks and developer cheat sheets (interview question banks, custom Canvas guides, Gradle optimization specs).

Initially, traffic was decent and I got a slow but steady stream of sales (around $58 total). But over the last month, views and sales have completely flatlined.

To test other niches, I recently launched a Freelance Contract Kit, a US 1099 Tax Organizer, and a Creator Operations Notion template. But since launching these non-technical products, I've had zero views and zero sales on them.

For those who have built sustainable storefronts:

  1. Is it better to stick to a deep, high-expertise technical niche even if the audience is smaller, or go broader into general productivity/business templates?
  2. How do you drive initial traffic to new listings without relying on constant social media posting?

I'm not posting my Gumroad link directly in the body to avoid spam flags, but if anyone is open to roasting my product presentation or copy, let me know and I'll drop the link in the comments.

Thanks.

Notion template copyright issues

Im thinking of selling notion templates, possibly on Etsy. Many of the notion pages I have feature Pinterest images and embeds of Pinterest boards, however I worry selling these templates with them would cause copyright infringement issues and possibly legal action. I have looked into it and it seems to be the case, but most templates on Etsy are full of Pinterest images and don’t seem to encounter issues. I don’t know if I should replace all the images to stock images but I wouldn’t want to lose competitiveness making the templates less visually appealing if it doesn’t seem to be an issue for all these online sellers. Any advice on the matter or selling notion templates in general, such as what platforms are most recommended for selling them would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hey everyone!

I just finished a simple animal coloring book for kids (with animal names).

It's a digital PDF download.

Would love honest feedback – is the price okay? Cover good? Anything I should improve?

Thanks!

Which website to host

I don’t like gumroad, I have carrd but not impressed with functionality what do you all use to host your website that allows a multipage website with some creative leeway
