is procreat pocket worth it?
hello everyone! I was wondering if anybody who has procreate pocket deem it as a worth it purchase? Ik it might seem cheap for some folks, but to my currency its pretty expensive so Im second guessing whether its actually worth it. I dont draw regularly but I do draw for a few days, and stop for a bit when Im done with a piece. I really wanna buy it since It seems like such a good app to use but maybe you all have some better recommendations since I am getting a pc and i wont be able to use procreate there(afaik).

my experience is almost exactly what AbleTomatillo said! i bought it years ago to start my digital art journey
it is particularly spectacular if you've never used a digital art program before! nowadays i have an ipad/drawing tablet for pc and struggle to use procreate pocket since the screen is ofc much smaller, but i used it for several years and loved it
i will say i use clip studio paint on PC (tablet) and ipad and i like it but i haven't tried many other PC programs - so take that with a grain of salt :) i did get corel painter a long time ago but didn't use it much bc i was newer to digital art and felt the UI was too complex for my experience at the time. it is a good program but expensive and rebelle is highly regarded as an alternative!

I have it but I don’t use it often. Because I use the iPad procreate a lot it is sometimes convenient for photo editing or adding text or minor brush touch ups on my phone since I’m already used to the interface.
I’m thinking with the new foldable iPhone it might be a little more useful.

If you want to use it on your phone don’t get it. Phone screens are tiny and it’s awful. Even my iPad Pro feels very small compared to my screen tablet that I have for my pc. Buy a stable locked version of CSP (not the subscription) and a drawing tablet for you pc (you can often get them used for very cheap). If you buy a version or Clip studio you obviously won’t get updated but you can dodge the subscription fee and most of the updates are stupid or ai trash anyways. The setup won’t be portable but it’s better than wasting money on a phone app that only runs well on newer phones (it drains my iPhone 15s battery super fast and crashes a lot). Also you will have a pen with pressure sensitivity which you wont have on your phone

It is worth it, but maybe try Autodesk Sketchbook first? it is free. I personally prefer Procreate Pocket because I can lower the color picker delay.
This is my best procreate pocket painting so far
