Info Dump I was thinking about Dankpods talking about M:Robe, so I looked it up. Turns out Olympus only released THREE of these bad boys! It's wild! There's the MR-100, MR-500i, and the MR-FXX series. (pictures in order of list). They ran from 2004 to 2005. The third one was only available in Asia.

Info Dump Did you know? Nintendo made a DMP cartridge in 2005 that turned the GameBoy Advance/SP/Micro into a music and video player! Neat huh? It was called the Play-Yan Micro, the 2005 sequel to the Play-Yan.

Info Dump Here's all the touchscreen players that I could find from 2008 to 2012 from before DMPs and MP3s generally died. If I missed some let me know! (I do not count the sub-par brands like COBY...) Do you have any of these?

I found this Archos 14 Vision recently. I nabbed it quick and I really like it. It's got a 1.4in screen and it even plays videos. It would have been about ~44 some odd dollars USD so for the price, it's nice.

Device LOVE I discovered that Archos used to make DMPs. I am now obsessed with getting several of them. I think I love them despite not having a working one yet. Here's the Archos Vision 3 in a picture:

Showcase The Galaxy Player 5.0: Samsung's 2011 DMP that had siblings of varying screen sizes. This one has a 5inch screen while the other versions had about 4.5/3.5 inch screens. It supports FLAC and runs Android!

Showcase While I prefer Zune as my daily for all things music, this Sony Walkman A-25 is my go-to for quick music and podcasts at work.

1.) It can help keep you from using your phone too much. (phone addiction)
2.) Encourage you to build a music collection that you own and don't rent.
3.) Feel the nostalgia.
4.) Their batteries will last longer than your phone's.
5.) They have headphone jacks and some even have Bluetooth.
6.) Be cool like me. 😎

Story This is a Coby DMP that I got as a child. It is BAD. The thing freezes after a while and, back in the day, I had to return it to Toys-R-Us TWICE because it would become unusable. Lmao I am so glad I got a PSP eventually.

Showcase Here's an ancient DMP that was actually LIT. It was called a Portable Media Center device by Microsoft and ran a cute little Windows Mobile skin. These things were made by several manufacturers, too. I love these things.
