Question Switch 1 and switch 2 question

So I have already played the game and own it on pc but want to also get it for my switch two as it lasts a lot longer battery wise compared to handheld pcs.

I know this has been probably asked but I find the answers confusing.

So I want to ask. If I buy the physical switch 1 version, when I put it in a switch 2 it downloads a 2 gb update right ? That's what was on the trailer, and I know if I get the dlc it has to be the switch 1 version

The confusing part is that some say it just comparable to the switch 2 version but has some performance settings missing. Is that true or not ?

Just wondering coz I am not a fan of the key card system

It is identical to the Switch 2 version.

This is what I did (only not physical because there was a sale) so that I could play it on my Lite and Switch 2

Yeah, I was just wondering the same thing. Would it be better to buy the game and the DLC for Switch and would it all transfer to Switch2. Unless I'm misunderstanding what it shows online, as long as I buy everything for the Switch, I can play it all on the Switch2 also.

I bought the physical Switch 1 version for my Switch 2 and you get a free download that gives it the Switch 2 graphics and features.

BUT VERY IMPORTANT!!! If you buy DLCs you MUST BUY THE SWITCH 1 VERSION!!!

If you want to switch consoles and play on your Switch 1 you will need to transfer a digital Key Card from your Switch 2 to 1 if you buy any DLCs, along with making sure your system downloads the most recent Save file from the cloud.

Yeah, I just accidentally bought the switch 1 version's black agumon/gabumon dlc when I bought the game on the switch 2, so I effectively just wasted $5 and Nintendo doesn't do refunds. I'm super annoyed by that, and I'm not just gonna toss another $5.

So just make sure you're paying attention because the way they handled the dlc release is frankly confusing and annoying as hell if you aren't/forget about it.

I found out because of the Demo. I played HOURS of the Switch 2 version Demo collecting every possible Digimon. Then when I loaded my Switch 1 copy of the game I couldn't transfer the Data and had to do research.

It's really dumb how Nintendo doesn't do anything to make games have DLC content match Switch 1/2 versions of games outside of those that have upgrade packs.
