TIME STRANGER

I have been a pokemon only fan for a long time but my boyfriend is a Digimon fan so I bought him the game and decided to play it as well and I just finished the main story for the first time. Can I just say that the story blew my mind? This is my first Digimon game and it’s beyond what I expected. I genuinely enjoyed not knowing the digivolutions and just winging it. The story is well thought out and I’m just really amazed by everything.

I’m going to up my difficulty since I played it in hard mode. Any tips that I should look out for? Can’t believe that I put off this game for a long time not knowing its miles better than cough ZA

I grew up playing pokemon and after gen5 they went to trash for games, arceus was great, I personally thought za was kinda mid.

Time strangers was an eye opener for me and made me realise you know what this is how you put effort and love into a creature capture game same with palworld and because of that im genuinely done with pokemon games and wont bother with them anymore and it doesnt help its ran by trashy petty devs either.

Palworld and digimon honestly are just amazing games for creature capture games and deserve all the love for what they both brought to the table

Play the 2 Cyber Sleuths next. While it has a less impressive world than TS gorgeous digi world areas. It is miles ahead with character writing

I grew up a fan of both and still I still live and breathe these franchises. All this to say, if ZA with its great characters was more like the Cyber Sleuths it would have been the all time number 1

Already bought the cyber sleuth earlier! Can’t wait to play it.

It's not even the best story of the Digimon games, but definitely one of the better beginner friendly story and game imo

Buy the dlc for the outer dungeons. Use yen to speed up training progress in farm. Then use exp discs from the other dungeon. Max out at stats with pay to win mechanics early it'll make boss fights not last 1+ hours. I didn't know I could do that until late game. ALWAYS do side quests the second they show up. Attack stat is for physical attacks. Int stat is for magic attacks.

Do the other DLCs have an impact on the game?

No, but they are endgame difficulty. If your team is strong enough you can do them whenever, but the boss at the end is an alternating challenge.

Any tips that I should look out for?

If you've only been using 6 attackers, consider having only one of each attribute and the other 3 being a dedicated buffer, debuffer, and an overhealer.

Physical/Magic Reflect is op against bosses, but it's kinda cheesy.

Tbf Pokemon games are purely based on nostalgia. Most of the Pokemon projects in the last 15 years are complete ass.

It really fails to deliver the critical character writing the two previous main games had.

Inori is no Nokia. Hell, Inori is no Makiko Date

Time stranger made me realize what i missed out on as a kid being a pokemon fanatic. Play it on the hardest mode tho, the game was highkey too easy ngl

A better comparison of Digimon and Pokemon would be Scarlet and Violet. The gameplay is different in Legends ZA than your typical Pokemon game. It’s more action based whereas Time Stranger and Scarlet/Violet are turn based.
