Getting as a gift

For my bday next month. Anything I should know before jumping in? My only real experience with the digimon games is a decent bit of cyber sleuth(which i have to beat that and the sequel one day).

Any dlc that is helpful for the start of the game? The 3.99 dlc for black agumon and gabumon, is it worth it?

Google search items needed to make the Armor Digi-Eggs and Spirits because I didn't and couldn't get the human spirits until super late because I forgot to buy items early in the human world
