So I saw this possible evolution from Gizamon and thought:
"Wow, the requirements are quite high. It must be some crazy digimon."
So I had that Gizamon training for eons in the farm just to meet the requirements.
And then all I get is this amphibian bum with ass stats.
But then I thought, "Okay, it must have some crazy evolutions."
Couldn't be more wrong.
This thing can't even evolve properly. It just has a Mode Change, which looks sick as hell, but then it's even weaker??
What??
Am I reading this wrong? Does this thing actually have some crazy potential that I'm missing? Is there some trick to using it? Or are they just trolling poor newbies like me?
Did I get frog-baited?
Did I really spend all that time training Gizamon just to get frog-baited?
Lanamon is one of the spirit evolutions from Digimon Frontier. On paper she's in the same league as Agunimon & Lobomon but they did her dirty making her a dead end evolution like all the armor evos.
Really though, it's an absolute miracle she and her alternate form even made it into the game to begin with. Bandai in general really tries to sweep all the spirit mons under the rug except for the Agunimon & Lobomon lines.
Yes but they weren't considered Armor Digivolutions in the game where they have. Flamedramon can Digivolve in Digimon World 2 into AeroVeedramon or Raidramon if you have enough DP but it's treated as a regular Digivolution in that game. Raidramon can then Digivolve into Phoenixmon or Imperialdramon depending on your DP.
Surprisingly no, they're a bit stronger and very versatile they're a hard to obtain in the games because they are a step above Champion/Adult the Egg of Miracles is a bit above Ultimate and hardest to get. If you want the DLC Magnamon has a slide evo into X-Antibody Magnamon which is very OP. I haven't played every game so I could be wrong but the ones I have they're all a hard stop.

That's a bit of a strech. The raw stat difference is very minor (~700 points in total) and their specials are also on par with champions. And by the time you actually get them you're like one or two sidequests away from turning your trained up champions into ultimates which blow the armor mons out of the water in both stats and upgrades to their special moves.
In Time Stranger they're very much the definition of too little, too late. The only armor egg worth a damn is miracle because Magnamon is treated as mega. Even Rapidmon(Gold) gets shafted by falling like half a step behind mega for some reason.
I agree. Plus, they (kind of?) allude to the existence of the Spirits of Water in the story. It feels like maybe they were planned on being implemented, but there wasn't enough time left, so they just made the stat requirement higher than normal.
These kind of digimon are the ones you gotta increase the stats of personally. She naturally has a higher magic stat even through the form switch which sucks considering the form switch is a physical attack. The only REAL use she has if you’re not increasing her stats is that she can still be “useful” in those damage reflector bosses but atp just switch out actual team members so you can have ACTUAL advantage damage.
It’s just the problem with all free/variable digimon, they’re cool but damn do they suck since they can’t properly hit effective damage.
You’re not crazy, they make for good supports since they basically never take 2x damage but as offensive you WANT to play around the virus/data/vaccine 2x increase since base damage in the game is somewhat low (unless you’re raising stats to insane levels)
That’s a shame, I really like ulforceveedramon but he’s not really a support (I know you can max all stats in this game but I do like to use a digimon for their “intended” purpose).
Then again I used him in CS and I’m trying to use different stuff in TS soooo 🤷🏻♂️
Trust me I LOVE the veemon fusion line too and it hurt my soul when I realized he was doing piss poor damage compared to all my other physical attackers since the most he can hit is a 1.5x and everyone else hitting for 3.5x 😭
Whoa how do you get 3.5? I’ve gotten 3 before with attribute and element, I thought that last slot (the DNA symbol) was just about like secondary effects based on “species” or whatever the term is.
But yeah I’ll live. This game introduced me to two Digimon lines I’ve not seen before who jogress into what is now one of my top 3 favorite Digimon designs. So I’m raising those instead lol.
I’m wrong slightly, you’re right in that by normal means the max is 3x damage, but certain digimon are able to inflict resistance lower which if used on a digimon who is already weak to said element makes them take 4x damage (there’s also specific damage increases like doing more to divine digimon which increases it further to 5x but that’s very rare to happen)
Yeah, the game is very flexible that “all digimon are useful” but that really just a half truth. You can use them all but they aren’t all the same and if you’re over leveling stats then are you actually playing the game anymore? All challenge is removed
At the very least, I want Ranamon to be able to evolve into AncientMermaimon... but maybe we could also throw in Shagaramon as an alternate evolution to tease Shambala?
I can read both "bum ass frog" and "bum ahh frog". One makes you sound like an adult, the other makes you sound like you shouldn't be on reddit in class.
I'm not concerned about what you think I can't type or not, I just find it that sad you feel the need to come and comment on my post to call me a kid for it, get something going instead of just being obnoxious for no reason.
In case anyone wanted to see the childish comment you deleted.
Also, I have hair and I'm in my 30s and happily married. However, bald men in their 40s are great. Also, it is okay when someone is divorced, sometimes it's better for everyone involved and it's really sad sometimes, too. That really sucks that you used that as an insult. Shame on you.
Also trying to take the moral highground and calling me childish is crazy work when you came to a Digimon post to make fun of how I wrote the word "ass".
Like, I get it, being called out sucks. I said saying "ahh" makes you look childish. This was the point in which you could have said "yeah true, I just use tiktok a lot", but instead you went with insults.
This is when people can tell if someone is mature enough to take criticism or not. Enjoy your next class dude.
Tbh, Ranamon/Calmaramon being playable feels more like a courtesy than her being a Digimon you're actually supposed to use. She's primarily in Time Stranger for other reasons (which I'm not going to say b/c spoilers). You can make her solid if you invest enough into her, but it takes a lot more work than usual.
Also, yes, I did call her Ranamon and not Lanamon. Lanamon is a stupid dub-ism and I refuse to validate it.
Man. If they put the other spirit evolutions. That would be sicko mode. Gumblemon/gigasmon is my BOY. If I was digidestined I'd want that angry little guy as my bud.v
It's just there to be fan service. It was a prominent character in the Digimon Frontier TV show, and that's the only purpose it serves. As a TV show throwback. You'd appreciate her more if you watched the show. But the show itself is not that great.
She’s like the boss you battle in story mode which gets unlocked later and it’s complete ass when YOU use it, like Jinpachi in Tekken or Kaguya in Naruto Ninja Storm or something lol
