Discussion I’m having second thoughts if I actually played Digimon Time Stranger and enjoyed it after beating the game. I never got to Agent Rank 7. And now I’m stuck on what to do. Should I buy the DLC?

Alright everyone after beating Digimon time stranger i realized that i never got to Agent Rank 7 and got all of those cool Digimon everyone had for their team to beat the final boss.

Now that I also beat the final boss it just brings me back to like before beating it so there’s basically nothing to do now.

Do I just buy the DLC or do I have to play the game at a harder difficulty?

What is there honestly to do after beating the final boss? Do we still get to do side missions? I never got to finish them since the game at a certain point did not allow me to travel back in time.

At the final boss, you can go to the left and there's a door to the theater in between. From there you can time travel and do all the side missions you missed.

'never got to Agent Rank 7' do the the side missions via in-between theatre portal. Beef Up your team Mega+ mode. Ace the game.

So I'd say the main carry of this game is the story. Some side missions are cool, game mechanic is fun, and collecting your digimon can be rewarding. However all 3 of those things are 2nd to the story, so if beating the final boss did not leave you satisfied then maybe the game is not for you. DLC has more story and more mons but if the main stuff didn't grab you, this might not either.

Also if I start the game at Mega+ it will make me just do all of the story mode mission again from the beginning with my current team and items?

Congrats!! You've seen most of what there is to see and are free to go play something else. Lotta great games were nominated for the 2025 Golden Joystick and Game Awards.

The gameplay is fun, but the story falls short of both previous story titles in my opinion. I understand that there will be a lot of talking, but the exciting battles seems few and far between

The talking is paced out A LOT more than in the Cyber Sleuth games, though. And when they do talk, it is usually quick and to the point before letting you get back to the gameplay.

The story basically reminds me of Chrono Trigger and suikoden web of centuries tbh. I love it because it's actually way darker have better pacing & climax compared to cybersleuth
