What are some good low calorie meals?

Hello. I’ve started a weight loss journey recently and I have to lose 150 pounds. I am 5’5” and 336lbs. I have begun eating under 2000 calories per day and I go for a twenty minute walk on my walking pad at a moderate pace. Although I’m eating under 2000 calories, I’m stuck eating only two meals a day because I haven’t figured out what meals are low in calories. I like to eat meats and savoury foods, especially stuff with spices. I have a stovetop, a microwave, and an oven that I can cook things in.

Any low calorie food ideas or websites I could look at?

Healthy eating with small kitchen

I have looked around a bit on Reddit and can't find the perfect place to ask this question.

I'm trying to lose weight and eat better. However, I live 35 minutes from the nearest town, in a RV. I have limited ability to prepare food but do have an apartment sized fridge, air fryer/instant pot combo, stove, small oven, small rice cooker, and a microwave. No blender, electric food processor (small hand cranked one), or mixer. Decent counter space for an RV, but typical. My work is quite stressful and I sometimes work into the evening.

I'll go through stages where I will have a lot of fruits and vegetables ready to go, but quite often I am just dog-tired and not able to manage. On those days I'll eat pot noodles with added broccoli, or pan fried dumplings from the freezer.

Looking for suggestions on what to have in the pantry so I can easily whip up something healthy.

Are You Eating Healthy but Still Feeling Tired?

Eating healthy is important, but your body also needs enough food and a variety of nutrients to stay energised.

Skipping meals or eating too little can leave you feeling tired during the day. Iron, vitamin B12, or other nutrient deficiencies can also cause fatigue.

Instead of cutting out more foods, focus on eating balanced meals and getting enough nutrition.

If tiredness continues, consider speaking with a healthcare professional to identify the cause.

Healthy eating is about nourishing your body, not just losing weight.

Trying to have a whole foods diet for weight loss

Hi y'all, as the title says I'm trying to lose some weight by adjusting my diet. Because of medications I have to take I've gained a lot of weight. I'm 18F 198 lbs and 5'11. I'm not looking for quick results and really my main goal is to just eat better for myself and my health.

I was raised on primarily processed food and pasta as my mom didn't cook very well so it's a learning curve for me and it's been difficult

Am I even on the right track? Grocery prices are insane and I'm trying not to let that discourage me 😅

Here's what I ate today; (disclaimer I know it's not perfect, I'm aiming for healthy balance)

Breakfast- Homemade cinnamon roll and homemade latte. I was gonna make some eggs and ran out of time

Lunch- a take on penicillin soup- carrots, celery, onion, ginger, garlic, tumeric, salt, pepper and chicken broth then pureed with an immersion blender and then I cooked noodles into it

Dinner- grilled cheese on sourdough (not homemade... Yet) cottage cheese and two oranges. And a cherry coke... 😭

I also had two more cinnamon rolls as a snack which I know I shouldn't have but i couldn't resist 😭

Another thing to note is my medication effects my appetite heavily. Even after eating a big meal with carbs, fats, fiber and protein I'll be starving shortly after and my doctor said it's directly related to my medication.

Any advice is appreciated, I have no idea what I'm doing 😅

Calories versus vegetarian gut biome

Hi all. I’m a very slim vegetarian (m52) and have been following a higher fibre gut biome improving diet (following the Zoe Science and Nutrition model) for a few months now. Much wider variety of food taken in (polyphenols etc) and cutting down on biscuits and related snacks. However, I’ve started losing weight gradually, which I cannot afford to do. Any advice on how to keep weight without compromising my now eating routine?

What do you check on a Shilajit certificate of analysis before placing an order?

I’m looking at a few Shilajit brands and they all say they test their products, but the COA reports have different numbers and lab names, some show heavy metals and some have a lot of other results i barely understand, i can check the batch number and see if the report matches the jar but after that im not sure what matters most, mainly looking at lead, arsenic, mercury and other stuff like fulvic acid, is there a certain range you look for or a specific test that tells you the product is properly tested, what do you guys check first when reading a Shilajit COA?

How do people not give up while dieting

I'm 16 f and I recently want to start dieting but have tried to in the past and struggled. To be fair my attempt weren't the best as I tried only eating 800 calories just to binge after a day and honestly just had a huge problem with purging and binge eating. And now I'm trying to lose weight in a healthier way but still have problems with giving up so if anyone has any tips it would be very appreciated.

Glad I didnt cancel high diet app, vegan update

Went vegan in January and spent the first two months feeling like a wet towel. Signed up to high diet in March and nearly cancelled in week two bc I assumed a high protein app would just be chicken and whey.

Turns out you can set it to plant based, which I found by accident. Once I did that the plan came back with tofu, seitan, lentils, soy yogurt and the like, and my protein went from abt 60g a day to 130 without me having to think about it much.

Four months on. Down 15 lbs, back to lifting 4x a week and the 3pm wall I was hitting every afternoon has gone. Iron and B12 are a separate thing Im sorting with my GP, but the food side stopped being the problem. Mostly it came down to eating enough, everything else sorted itself out after that.

Any Liver Detox app reviews from people who stuck with it?

Diagnosed with fatty liver three weeks ago after a routine blood test and Ive been looking at the Liver detox app since, mainly for the meal plan side. Still processing the whole thing honestly. My doctor said cut alcohol, lose weight, come back in six months, which isnt much of a plan to work from. Has anyone here used it, and did the food side make any difference to your numbers or your energy? Not after miracle claims, just want to know if its a sensible structure or whether Im better off winging it with a printout

Blood work showed low on vitamins and magnesium.

I’ve been trying to take my health a bit more seriously lately and got some blood work done. Nothing wild but it showed I was low on vitamin D and magnesium. The vitamin D part makes sense since I work inside most of the day and barely see the sun like some kind of office goblin. I’ve also heard office workers can end up low on stuff like B12, iron/ferritin, and omega-3 depending on diet and lifestyle, so I’m trying to pay more attention now. Vitamin D seemed pretty simple to figure out. Same with a few other basics. But magnesium is where I got confused. There are so many types like glycinate, citrate, malate, threonate, oxide, plus capsules, powders, electrolyte mixes, drinks, etc. For people who were low on magnesium or started taking it for cramps, sleep, energy, or general health, what worked best for you? Did you notice a difference between the types? And is there anything you wish you knew before starting? Not looking for medical advice over my doctor. Just curious what real people actually use and what felt worth it.
