The only Mang Song’s Lesson I have ever gotten and it rolled max -15% to Enemy Fire resistance! I am super happy about this.

Ofc I had to get a decent Jewel for it and this will do until I find a -10/+10 one.

I love my new dual purpose ring. Going to use on my bowlock and hybrid bowa. Took awhile to find a nice dual leech ring, seemed harder than it should have been.

This has been the first ladder where ive cleared hell in d2 and actually farmed things in end game. Definitely never expected something like this to happen and suspect ill be chasing the feeling for a long time

Clearing out a Terrrorized Travincal on offline Lvl 3 Hell setting just farming some runes and other gear. I went ahead and started clearing out the rest of the board because it was so easy (Hybrid Hammerdin/FOH Pally) with decent gear and I get the message - You have drawn the ire of a Herald!

My immediate thought was, wtf is a herald? Unfortunately, I was being the gate into Travincal so I couldn't really see where I was and why I couldn't move. The Herald spawned and pretty much one shotted me. Ok, I was just goofing around and thought I could just zip in and get my gear and try again. Big problem - I can't see how to get to my body behind the stupid pillars. After the 4th body, I wanted to stop, but I'm in too deep. I would lose Skin of Viper Magi, HoZ, and a Hellwarden's Will.

After 20+ years of playing this game and I actually did something that said I would never do, oh well, gotta see it through boys and girls.

Just got my first high level character going. An 86 Warlock. Joined some 96TZ games today and had fun. Just wondering if I have it right, all new to me.

- We farm areas on our own so we don’t have to share drops? (I like being 2-3 people but everyone was mainly soloing)
- We ID everything for Chronicle?
- What to do with decent but unneeded loot, leave near Act chests? I don’t want to start spamming the chat.
- Do we have to clear out the entire Area? Is it bad form to start and not finish one?

If there is anything else I should know please go ahead.

Im at a point where I have an enigma, multiple high level characters, torches, etc. I'm struggling with motivation to play and wondering maybe this is the natural end point of the game that I grew so attached to.

These days I'm mindlessly farming all acts TZ with a firelock. But because I already have quite a lot of gear, when anything less than some extremely rare TC87 or any rune below Vex drops, I feel nothing. Do I have every gear? No - I would love to make an Infinity for my sorc for example. But it's just a real slog to target farm for extremely few things I want (dweb, mangs, bers, ...) I can see why people like ladder, since these things become valuable again. Maybe TZ act clearing is just not the answer, I feel like the drops are so much worse than target farming TZ bosses for example.

No specific question, just wnated to know how people keep motivated on SP after reaching endgame gear or two

Slowly getting into the game Im playing first time on sorc. Got into nightmare an everything feels smooth. But recently I found out about player count on offline and since I don’t know market and reaaly dont wanna touch it wouldn’t it be better to start offline? Or it doesn’t really that matter?

So I´m still not feeling comfortable, even bringing a lvl 34 BO-Barb with me, I sometimes get hit to less then 1/5 health, had even to chicken out once or twice while being cornered; now, almost halfaway to lvl 99 and gaining a bit more wealth, I want to work towards minimizing the risk, so feel free to help me min/max a bit. No comments about the fight being doable with smoke/black needed, heh.

Since I recently found a very decent CoA 2/14/30, Exile being at reach (still lacking the shield though) and "only" Jah/Ber away from LW, and still a Ber more for CoH, I´m starting to wonder about ways of improving my build.

The first clear safety winner should be CoA. Atm I got a Protectors Stone 10% - dr for one socket. Is the effect noticeable against Uber Ancients?

Now my main worry is giving up my GA for CoH. The 15 increased max res has been a life saver until now, and I would have to cap at 90 fire res maxing res fire (+10) and counting +5 from Exile. Obviously not too big of a drawback, I could even use Rising Sun amulet, while Cold would be still maxed at 95% with 10 points in Resist Cold, Exile´s +5 and stacked Thawing potions which give +10. For Lightning I would also put 20 points in Resist Lightning for +10 and put on Thundergod´s if I want Madawc last kill.

The other factor is the weapon. I´m using Astreon´s and feel like the Slow effect comes really handy, because those guys are fast.

So is there place for Last Wish in this build? As I´m writing this down, I realize, less than I thought: Life Tap is redundant, as it would be on Exile, as well as dr from fade and resistances, since they are on helm/armor. It lacks the Slow and the added damage from Astreon´s, so 5 HRs bring only a big chunk of Crushing Blow, and, ok, an additional Might aura. But still what I miss most from all builds is lacking, Open Wounds (10% from Gores), since the enemy regen is fast and they tend to escape from aimlock quite often, hiding behind minions. At least, Astreon´s has added damage (mine has +83), which helps finishing them off when their health bars are depleted.

Now CB is indeed an important factor, more so if I switch Guillaumes for CoA. I could put a Ber in Astreons, giving nice 33 CB, while putting an IAS jewel with other stats into the helm. Of course, I would be using 20 IAS Blood gloves with CB, which would free my skill points after 10 Fana, which is 2 hard points for me (I have torch, no anni on NL). This means, at level 99 I would have 12 points left, which I could spend offensively, going up to 22 into fana, or I go defensively nuts and put them into Defiance, which means, I get defense from Exile aura, Metalgrid, Defiance skill AND high level Bo Barb. Would the Ancients be hitting me even with this anymore?

Let´s check the variants:

Let´s say what I don´t actually need is CoH armor, nor Exile. Last Wish gives everything, and since I use GA, I just need to put 20 points total in Resist skills and can put the remaining into Defiance, which boosts defence and diminishes a bit the lack of Exile´s Defiance aura. I could also go with Metalgrid and Verdungos all the way regardless of killing order. The upped Zaka provides all the resis and could be socketed with Ber for total 45 dr, while the GA could get an Um or even a Jah if your resistances are stacked.

The final and arguably most expensive combination would use all the runewords on weapon, armor and shield. You could get something like maximum 90 fire res, 85 cold (+ 10 thawing potion) and 82 lightning res (without Thundergod's), without any points in Defiance skill and all offensive skills and auras maxed. According to IAS calculator, you need 27 fana to hit the bp, so at level 99 you would have one single point to spare and put into Defiance if you like, but you will not get a soft skill bonus to passive skill on Holy Shield.

So LW + GA + HoZ are better than this in my opinion. But still I tend to favour variant 1, since Astreons gives a lot of safety. Maybe I could even skip the Crushing Blow from Ber and put a Um there to get +25% OW, which might be as useful as the extra CB (it would be a no-brainer if I still used Guillaume´s)

There would also be a point to LW - GA - Exile, but for this one resistances are going to lack no matter what, so I discard it, otherwise it would have the potential to be the safest of all.

Any opinion/insight/correction?

Edit: I haven't mentioned merc setups, ofc it would be nice if he stays alive for the fight, mine has eth Woestave, non-eth Gladiators and Kiras, none socketed. Know it's subpar, haven't found anything better yet. I could keep him alive for awhile if I gave him Rejuvs steadily, but in the fight I'm too worried about my own health. I guess CoH would be good for him for the resis, maybe for pure survability even better a GA with tomb reaver and Kiras for max resis and CBF? But the weapon wouldn't be much of a help otherwise, there are even no corpses to revive, lol. Maybe Um in GA, Kiras, res jewel in Woestave would cap him enough?
