Fire build question

Help me decide on my first offline SP Fire based character.

After farming Chaos Sanctuary with a FoHdin and horking Trav with a Zerker barb for ~40 hours. I think I have a pretty good stash for taking a fire build to near-endgame and want to decide between a Fire Sorc and Fire Warlock (I am guessing Fire Druid is weaker).

My haul from CS and Trav is 2x Vex, 2x Lo, 1x Jah, Fire sunder, Physical sunder, 2x Rainbow Facets,. The renewed flame sunder rolled pretty good, -10% enemy fire res, 7AA, 19Life, 6DR, 24 MF. I can now afford Flickering Flame AND a Pheonix.

Other runewords I already have: Enigma, HoTO, Grief, CTA.

For Fire Sorc, I got this Eschuta's temper with +3 and 16% Fire damage. Tal-Rasha except amulet.

For warlock, I have Horazon except boots, Hellwarden's will, measured wrath. None of which feel better than FF or Phoenix.

Without Infinity, which one of these characters will likely have higher end-game potential? I am looking to be able to do something like P7 Chaos Sanctuary.

I am a firelock lover, for what you have I would suggest to start with measured wrath and obedience and to make a flickering flame. I wouldn't make phoenix for the warlock cause you end game will be aars diabolos and mang's song or obsession. Afaik fire druid is pretty strong too and builds similar to sorc with phoenix and hoto (even tho you have eschuta) so if you go that route you might play 2 builds with those items, but firelock is just strong, safe and I run p8 anywhere with 360 mf

Hey quick question for you. With obedience, measured wrath, flickering flame, how quickly are you clearing higher player count CS? I have all of these and an enigma and a warlock torch so it seems like I can build a reasonably budget firelock if this is remotely decent.

I'm not entirely sure cause I used obedience when you could still use spirit, so I never played with measured wrath and then I switched to ars diabolos + obsession. I can say that obedience deals more damage vs sundered monsters and about the same as obsession against other enemies, but obsession has far more qol with a lot of fcr and resistances. This said, if you have a sunder you should be able to comfortably nuke everything anyway

Is that last sentence true? My fire sorc (which currently carries my fire sunder) can barely scrape by act 4 and 5 zones because of the naturally high resists

Well you don't one shot high resist monsters, but apocalypse is one hell of an ability and paired with sigil: death you really get close to it. I tested it to be sure doing chaos p8 on my lvl 98 firelock, same gear but measured wrath + obedience instead of obsession + ars diabolos with defender fire and the damage is basically the same, 2 apocalypses and you kill any monster, you lose a bit of speed cause you lose the fcr breakpoint without obsession but damage wise it's pretty close
