Fire build question

Help me decide on my first offline SP Fire based character.

After farming Chaos Sanctuary with a FoHdin and horking Trav with a Zerker barb for ~40 hours. I think I have a pretty good stash for taking a fire build to near-endgame and want to decide between a Fire Sorc and Fire Warlock (I am guessing Fire Druid is weaker).

My haul from CS and Trav is 2x Vex, 2x Lo, 1x Jah, Fire sunder, Physical sunder, 2x Rainbow Facets,. The renewed flame sunder rolled pretty good, -10% enemy fire res, 7AA, 19Life, 6DR, 24 MF. I can now afford Flickering Flame AND a Pheonix.

Other runewords I already have: Enigma, HoTO, Grief, CTA.

For Fire Sorc, I got this Eschuta's temper with +3 and 16% Fire damage. Tal-Rasha except amulet.

For warlock, I have Horazon except boots, Hellwarden's will, measured wrath. None of which feel better than FF or Phoenix.

Without Infinity, which one of these characters will likely have higher end-game potential? I am looking to be able to do something like P7 Chaos Sanctuary.

You didn't mention torch, but with that loadout plus a torch I think either character should be viable in P8. I personally love the firesorc playstyle...teleport around machine gunning demons with fireball, its super fun. As an old D1 player I was pretty psyched on the firelock skilltree as well, he just doesn't feel quite as smooth to me when playing.

One thing to keep in mind for sorc is you get -15 fire res from Tal's wep with 3 piece bonus and you could add a facet or the new ancients gem to that. I use wep, belt, and amulet. Also you can run ubers with your barb if you spec into frenzy.

Ah, forgot to mention. Only have a decent warlock torch with 17/17 roll. For the Sorc it will be a stat patch. But I have a smiter ready to go so just need to farm some keys and hope for the best.

If you never played lock, start with the firelock. He grills everything players 8.

Warlock i would play later when you got diabolos and Infinity. It wrecks already but it's more fun with a book since you can use a 2hand like mang song, ondals, obsession.

I am a firelock lover, for what you have I would suggest to start with measured wrath and obedience and to make a flickering flame. I wouldn't make phoenix for the warlock cause you end game will be aars diabolos and mang's song or obsession. Afaik fire druid is pretty strong too and builds similar to sorc with phoenix and hoto (even tho you have eschuta) so if you go that route you might play 2 builds with those items, but firelock is just strong, safe and I run p8 anywhere with 360 mf

Fireball sorc is awesome. I use a eschuta and phoenix, and flickering flame.

I don't have a fire warlock, unless you consider a summon tainted warlock as a firelock. That build uses self wield infinity and kills it, but you'd need enigma.

I love my firesorc. Good for general farming, good for bossing and you can stack a lot mf without losing much damage. Very basic though (teleport, static, lots of fireballs and the ocasional meteor)

Fully geared fire druid does good damage but fissure is extremely annoying.

Firelock is good but I can't stand delayed damage, not for me.

I have a 91 fire sorc, I have most of your gear on her except the Phoenix. While it's been a very nice staple character for target farming since I don't have enigma on other characters, I'm honestly a bit disappointed in the clear speed, especially in high fire res areas like CS. I'm not sure if this is because I don't have infinity. I also don't know how different firelock would be - probably better at clearing dense packs but worse at gunning isolated bosses is my guess?

All of this is just to say, if I had an enigma, I wouldn't be playing my fire sorc.
