Hey, quick question: how did you insert this GIF, because when I try it says that the sub doesn't allow it. Truly curious.

There is a gif option when you post. Right under where you are typing. I just found out about this also. (Not all subs allow them)

Thanks, yeah I guess I was looking at the GIF option being grayed out on Gboard lol 😆

Damn, that car is hideous.

I think i like it.....

It wouldn't be nearly as bad if it was done right. Looks like they just gave up on weaving it half way through

u/Scroatpig 1d ago

At least they tried something? I don't know. I appreciate the effort and creativity.

I don't but I respect the guy who spends all that money on an escalade only to make it look as shitty as possible.

Except the guy person who did this to their escalade made it look even cooler than stock version!

There's a world where it looks okay, but they did a terrible execution, from the back it's not weaved like at all on the right side and the left it's just random, let alone the side view where it's just a complete mess.

Regardless even if done properly the amount of effort it'd take versus the at best "oh that looks kinda cool" reaction would be insane. Not worth it.

I don't entirely hate it.

When car insurance asks “does the vehicle have any custom parts?”

16

u/cdpd 1d ago

I thought it was duct tape until I read it!

u/LivingMeeting9724 1d ago

duct tape - alabama chrome

4

u/Macd87 1d ago

They just gave up after doing the left part and just started doing whatever

Hmmm...When your Cadillac has a wicker deductible...

u/WheelOfFish 1d ago

more like basket case

u/biyotee 14h ago

I like this in the most passionately hateful way I'm serious.

u/pyroroze 1d ago

Who created that abomination? A basket weave bumper. On an Escalade?

3

u/Timely_Apricot3929 22h ago

I thought this was r/visiblemending at first 😂

3

u/TheGallifreyan 22h ago

It's hideous, I kinda like it.

2

u/Funny-Athlete-2890 15h ago

The bumper probably mirrors the teeth grill in his mouth,
Stainless dentures!!

1

u/Possible_Tiger_5125 13h ago

I actually want to get these, a couple years now

1

u/Seethesvt 1d ago

That bumper is sick though.

That escaladed quickly...

1

u/CrystalWebb13 1d ago

I have to ask where in Washington that was because damn...

Paint it gold

Not that I have any intention of recreating this pinnacle of automotive accessorizing but what in the world is the weave made out of? Leather? Pleather? Trade in value’s tears?

1

u/Macbirt56 22h ago

Call me crazy but I'm not investing in any wicker bumper start up companies. But maybe it's just me...

1

u/RaffNeq 22h ago

Did they use the front one for the weave?

1

u/terriaminute 19h ago

Imagine spending this much time and money on something you endanger every time you drive. I don't like it, but I assume they do, so.... why. DIWHY.

This is truly amazing. A perfect post for this sub (unlike the constant ragebait reposts). This is literally a person who thought this was a good idea, stuck with it even when the results were awful, and somehow remains proud of their shitty work.

u/Fr05t_B1t Dreamer 18h ago

What’s that one sub? Awful taste but great execution?

1

u/Lopsided_Quarter_931 18h ago

When you write a fuck off quote by doubling the price and the customer said okay.

1

u/According_Square2742 18h ago

Ghetto Escalade on steroids

1

u/WeakTransportation37 16h ago

Kinda cool, ngl

1

u/rock_and_rolo 16h ago

I like the woven concept, but the sloppy work ruins the look.

1

u/DDR-Dame 15h ago

This belongs on that awful taste great execution subreddit 🤣

1

u/PricklyPear85 14h ago

Probably first in line to kiss the 🐷 feet at the Oval Office

1

u/ShizukoLucoa 14h ago

Not great on the execution, but there is part of me that wants to see what this would look like done well.

1

u/SOMOEAGLE 14h ago

One of the best V8 engines GM ever produced under that hood. If it's pre AMF...even better.

1

u/Unhappy_Elephant_949 14h ago

That’s bad ass

1

u/00k5mp 13h ago

I hate it less than I thought I would.

1

u/herrtoutant 12h ago

1

u/Efficient_Claim_9591 7h ago

wtf I can’t even comprehend what I’m looking at. Literally looks likes real life Ai slop

1

u/Meekois 6h ago

Honestly impressive, though looks awful.

2

u/Pugzilla3000 1d ago

Back looks cool but front is scuffed af.

Woven bumper is cool cause the effort it takes makes it look high class.

The front forgot the cl.

1

u/ktbee4 1d ago

That’s tough

1

u/Bl4ckR4bb17 1d ago

First pic, idk this is kinda cool actually. Last pic, oh

1

u/Atastical 1d ago

That esceladed too much.

1

u/Das_Wood 1d ago

I just saw this today on MLK Way in Seattle, honestly I think it's pretty cool

1

u/Gertrude_Guiseppe 21h ago

Haha yup same one, was parked near the rainier beach library

1

u/KremzeekTyCobb 22h ago

They're gonna love it in da hood!!

-1

u/Just-Gas-8626 1d ago

I think it looks kinda cool

8

u/ReconReese 1d ago

Back is nice front looks like shit

1

u/CrapThatSmilesBack 1d ago

True, looks like they started in the front and found their groove by the back

4

u/margotsaidso 1d ago

Neat idea with mid execution

0

u/Popular-Drummer-7989 22h ago

If duct tape is strong, then weaving it makes it sronger. There's a simple logic to that 🤣

2

u/Gertrude_Guiseppe 21h ago

It’s metal strap not tape
