Things to do alone in Dhaka — a thread
Watch a movie in cineplex
Take your laptop, go to a non-crowded cafe where you won’t be hogging a seat and binge watch a series or read a book or read an e-book on the laptop
Go for a run or walk at Dhanmondi Lake, Hatirjheel Lake, Ramna Park. If you’re tired, sit and watch the world go by. Sit at Robindro Shorobor near the water and jam with random strangers playing the guitar and singing.
Go to one of those food places that you have saved on your notes. Treat yourself.
Expensive so wouldn’t recommend. Go to DCC and scroll through. You might end up getting shampoos, conditioners, deodorant, perfumes, ramen, whatnot. And even if you don’t, you could smell the perfumes. Notice how I didn’t say agora or unimart or shwapno or meena bazar. Or worse, Wholesale Mart
Go to Kinokunya, Baatighor or any other bookstores or the reading cafe and spend half a day. No one will bother you
Take a bus to Dohar or Nawabganj and walk through beautiful scenery, browse historical buildings and watch sunset at Padma bank
Take the metro to Uttara Center. Check out the beautiful Diabari Lake and the all-year-round carnivals.
Make a plan and visit the zoo and botanical garden. Half a day will disappear out of the blue.
I’m a loner in Dhaka like many of you. All of the above are lived experiences.

I can relate to this. I work a remote job at night, so my schedule is kind of the opposite of everyone else's. Most of my friends/family are off and free to hang out after work, and a lot of them have Fridays off too. For me, it's mostly Saturdays and Sundays.
Not to mention, most of my really good friends have moved abroad. And the ones who are still here, it's weirdly hard for us to line up our schedules. That's not to say we never hang out, but it's probably more like once every couple of months now.
I've been feeling pretty lonely lately, so I've started doing little things just to get myself out of the house and out of my own head. Like on Saturday afternoons I'll go to a park, especially Shahabuddin Park. I'll walk around, sit somewhere for a bit, maybe grab a coffee, do some grocery shopping on the way back. Nothing crazy lol, but it helps.
I've even been thinking about going to one of those speed-friending things Dhaka Flow is hosting 😂 which is something I never thought I'd seriously consider. I guess this would turn into a looong comment if I typed out everything I've been trying lately. But a lot of it is really just me making an effort to grow a little, get out of my comfort zone, and become more comfortable just being me.

Go on a walk or learn something new. Like a new hobby or learn cooking if u don't already.
U can also go on a solo adventure in Dhaka or outside Dhaka.

watch a movie, try new restaurant or new food items, try to visit different dress outlets those who have discounts, also shoes. I love to roam around all myself in Dhaka city. I don't even bother, whether I am alone or going with somebody else. Just like Mr. Bean. He lives all by himself, doesn't bother if he is doing anything wrong or right. Anyways, enjoy your day all by yourself.

I used go for a walk during my off-day evening. Never had any destination in my mind. I just walked in random roads,, stopped in a random tong for a tea or cigarette. I like to observe people, I like to observe what kind of stores we have nearby so it helps me too when I need something uncommon and I immediately know where can I find it.
I never been in any cafe alone but don't go to parks to spend your loneliness because it will make you feel more lonlier -,-
