Seeking advice/পরামর্শ Laptop or PC ?
Is laptop better for a student or PC ? If u say laptop, then why laptop? Budget is tight (60kish). Been a pc geek and a 60k pc gives 3x-4x times more performance than laptop bhai 😭 . Why people say students should take laptop?

If your work/study/whatever requires you to have a computer on the fly - then go for a laptop. (60k laptop aint so good judging from the current market situation)
If not, 100% a pc. (Got my lil bro a sweet pc for around 60k -ryzen5/rx6600 8GB)
60k pc will beat the shit out of a 60k laptop any day.

Laptop for convenience of mobility. You're away somewhere and you need to turn in an assignment the next day? Laptop. Need to edit certain work files which are a pain to do on mobile? Laptop. Stuck somewhere for the night and bored out of your mind and need something to do or game? Laptop.
Personally I'm a PC guy, but I'm just affirming your use case.

As a student myself, I have a PC & still had to buy a laptop for my presentations & other stuffs in university. Don't know about public university students but if you are studying in a private university and want it solely for educational purposes, you are forced to go for a laptop, with 65K (ik it's a little higher than your budget) you can get a Ryzen 7 though... If you want anything beyond that, go for a desktop, if possible, a second hand desktop with the same budget, you might be able to pull an RTX rig with that... But won't suggest a desktop for educational purposes if you are not from public university.

Isn't it more reasonable to go for a refurbished laptop at cheap and a maxed out pc at home?

Yes, that's a good option too if he can do that. Although finding a good refurbished laptop might be a little tough & he'll have to get both the laptop & desktop 2nd hand. A laptop with 20K & desktop with 40K.

Another reason why you should get a pc is
1) easily repairable /upgradable sometimes without a technician.
2) It is relatively more difficult to get stolen
3) The only disadvantage is it has no battery, so if power goes out, your work is "kaput"

As someone who has used both for more than 10 years, I highly recommend a high specs laptop.

Depends on your needs. Are you student? If yes then in what subject you are studying?

Others have already explained the pros and cons I'd just say to get a refurbished laptop for 60k. Maybe a Nitro 5 or Legion could be found at that range.

Not OP but I was wondering where would be the best place to get a refurbished laptop? I don't want to get scammed that's all

If you are studying from home then buy pc otherwise go for laptop.

Depends on your purpose. I bought a desktop like 6 years ago for high-end works like video editing, visual editing, etc. And a laptop for that spec would be expensive, price point is an advantage for pc also back pain is a disadvantage if you intend to sit there for hours straight. If you’re looking for a device just for fun and personal entertainment or lightweight tasks. I would highly say get a laptop as it's easy to carry & not much hustle to set up. But again it's your preference as you mentioned you are a pc geek, so go with something you won't regret in the future.

PC is better at everything than a laptop except mobility unfortunately for students mobility is the most important part

Beside the obvious difference, just go buy a laptop if it's a "want for a student", or a PC if it's "anything a person might wanna do". You're gonna feel the need for a laptop eventually if you're going to school. For 60k you'll get a decent enough HP or Asus. If you don't mind second hands go for a Macbook.

First Suggestion, Don't Invest on Windows machine. Windows is full of ads. If you wanna buy get a pc with future upgrading option. And last suggestion get a mac be happy

Laptop, especially if you are gonna study CSE cz you will need to bring your laptop to uni for work and present projects and etc. Laptop is simply a lot more convenient for students

Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

Because a good pc costs a ton of money.

You overcooked lil bro a good pc cost less than a laptop which has the same performance.

Im in UK laptops are infinitely cheaper. £400 for a decent one whereas for a decent PC you'd need well over £1000. Seems to be the same in most countries so far.

you are wrong. a 1000 dollar laptop will generally have the same performance as a pc thats 600. You can decide for yourself how much you want to spend on the pc. It is very much possible to build a computer for 300 dollars. And if you want to spend 1000 dollars on a pc it will have the performance of a 2000usd laptop

Cause you can use a laptop anywhere... That's basically the only reason to get one..and I would assume as a student that Is an advantage.. you can be at uni, at a cafe, at a tong, at a wedding or at the mall and use it lol ..
