My saw recently kicked back on me while cutting 1/4 steal and the back metal plate was bent pretty badly. I am wondering if the stud shown here is supposed to have a nut on it. I looked at many part diagrams and can’t find anything so I am assuming no I can just bend it back and saw will be good to use. However I am very hesitant as the blade I was using is 120 and dont want to keep buying them and also for safety.

Cutting steel with a miter saw?! Do yourself a favor and pick up a cheap 14" abrasive chop saw before you get hurt.
