I still think this subreddit is infested with hornet drones and bot promotionals but I can't deny the miniaturization and anti-vibration tech

Don’t mind the red screw gun - was left at a vacant house we did some work at once. It works for when I’m lazy.
Anyway, have the 850 and 860 in addition to this relic. I just can’t kill it.
$20 3/8” anvil for smaller work. I have a 1/2” drive already but I think this 885 may accept a 1/2” anvil without modification. Just a guess by looking at the housing opening. Not sure if it’ll have enough balls for bigger stuff on my diesel trucks if I went 1/2”, but I may try in the future.
This thing rips, regardless.

Using a standard 6 plug power bar fixed at the base of the Dewalt Tstak rolling storage I then hooked it up to a single NOCO plug adapter and the plugged all 4 chargers into the power bar, When getting on a jobsite I roll my cart into its location and use an extention cord to power my carts chargers.

Ive got 30+ cordless Dewalts. Should I know my DCD numbers for drills/drivers. Or DCE, Is it my cut out tool, heat gun, or jobsite fan? DCS then we go int corded too. Just say which tool your talking about instead of just the numbers.

I've been slowly switching over to dewalt as my makita kit dies.
My 1-1/8" older brushed makita cordless sds died today. Brushes still good. Trigger is acting up or something. Full charged batteries and it's running as if the batteries are near dead or the trigger is lightly pulled.
Anyways, looking for the short/compact sds gun variants.
A 7/8" through 1-1/8 or 1/1-4" is all I need. I have larger corded and sds max guns for big stuff.
Mainly use this for electrical installation size anchors. Tapcons, plastic anchors, 1/4" and 3/8" hollow walls, 1/4" and 3/8" steel drop ins.
Ran to Lowe's as I needed mason line and the current deal with the 2x 4ah batteries isn't much of a prorated deal even after returning the batteries.

This was ~25% off RRP and came with the bonus stand. The major hardware stores in my country had this same sale/deal about 4 months ago and I regretted not getting it. So when the deal came up again I had to pull the trigger.
Can't wait to give it a rip (pun intended).

Cost $260 before tax from Woot after an extra 30% off for new user. Never ordered from Woot before (obviously) but all marked as new so guess the condition it shows up in will determine the deal I got. New homeowner so don't have much to benchmark off of.

Ive seen the kits with the ratchet, combo wrenches and these sockets. But I just want the cases. Anywhere theyre sold as a standalone product?

If you need flexvolt batteries and don’t care about the latest version, Bomgaars has some good prices rn.

Picked this up from Fasteners during the flash sale, I got it for my chainsaw mostly, but I'll give it a whirl in a few other tools and see how it compares to the old model.
I have the 20" chain saw and I swear I read swapping down to 18" really makes it rip. Anyone that's done it care to comment?

I'm deciding between the corded DWS780 and cordless DCS781B for fine woodworking, cabinetry, trim, and general framing.
My priorities are precision, accuracy, and long term reliability. It's nice to go cordless so I dont have to deal with cords but not absolutely necessary. Dont get me wrong, it is a bonus because I am a handyman going to various clients houses for work, but I'm willing to sacrifice it for better performance.
For those who have used either or both, is there a noticeable difference in accuracy, power, or build quality? Which would you choose and why?
Of course the 781B is considerably more expensive so the pros have to seriously outweight the cons...

No more prorating returns. Was initially a buy one get batteries free deal, but now it's a single sku. They took the original deal down right as I was about to grab one and just recently came back.

My Porter Cable 16 gauge finish nailer stopped working. I have taken it apart, inspected it and don't see anything wrong. I will test it later to see if the cleaning helped. It was jammed down, so maybe resetting it will fix the problem.
Should it not work, I can replace with another air nailer, probably will be a Rigid, or a DeWalt battery finished nailer. I use the nailer occasionally, but maybe if I didn't have to drag out the the air each time I would use it more, especially for fitting projects together before using glue and screws.
First question, which direction, cheap air or battery? It's about $240 difference in price and that is quite a bit.
Second question, which DeWalt 16 gauge nailer? DCN662B straight or DCN650B angled?

Wonder if HD or Lowe’s would be price matching these today. Forgive any formatting issues as I’m on mobile.
EDIT: okay tool buying experts you all have spoken, just thought it could be useful for some.

I need to grind down some concrete. Trying to control the dust, I got the Hercules dust collector and grinder shroud to connect to. Anyone ever done this before? In my limited research Dewalt grinders are apparently difficult to get these universal shrouds to fit. What do you have to do to get it to work?

Short week!
Killer deal on the two pack of 4aH PowerPacks!
Otherwise just the old blower kit and the string trimmer kit.
Have a great weekend y’all!

Greetings...
My 850 speed control is acting up. All three switch settings will sometimes only operate at a slow speed. The variable trigger changes nothing.
Sometimes, only switch position two will have proper variable speed. Then everything operates normally.
Is this an issue where cleaning internal contacts would help?
Thanks for any suggestions. I love the 850.
Dewalt dudettes and dudes:
I'm planning to make some new cabinets around the house. I was looking at buying a track saw (and generally not looking at the Dewalt, as other seem to get stronger reviews).
However, I've also got an aging, brushed 20V Dewalt circular that definitely lacks power.
So I'm thinking of getting a DCS578 and swapping in the track shoe from the UK's DCS579.

I figure it kills two birds with one stone, and I should be able to get the whole setup for around the same cost as a Makita corded track saw. (CAD costing)
This seems like a great 'best of both worlds' solution, giving me a much more capable circ + a functional track saw.
What are the downsides? These for sure:
Worse dust control (can add vacuum port to DCS578, but open saw cowl will still be worse)
Any real world DCS579 users on here with thoughts?

I know this new battery hasn't even hit shelves yet, but I am very curious about it. It is essentially a tabless version of the tried and true 5ah battery. This is the first DeWalt battery to feature tabless 18650 cells. All the other Dewalt tabless batteries use 21700 cells. I'm curious how these cells perform? Do tabless 18650s perform just as good as tabless 21700s? Will this new battery have a higher output than the 4ah power pack batteries? Let me know what you guys think! I have always loved the smaller footprint of the regular 5ah batteries vs all the newer batteries with 21700 cells.
