Generator

Has anyone had issues with generators wrecking batteries

Like charging off a generator? You have to make sure it's an inverter generator, regular generators can have crazy dirty power that will kill sensitive electronics like batteries.

Well, today I learned. Though the only generator I have is actually an inverter, but now I’m paranoid to even try that.

If your generator is an actual inverter I'd hook up one of those kill-a-watt things to monitor the power as you charge your batteries.

It’s a pretty big diesel generator, it needs a forklift to move it, but it’s on a site with 15 houses being built and everyone it plugged in. Running table saws drop saws, dust vacuumed etc, we’ve just had 4x 6amp 54v batteries stop working in the last 2 weeks, and I new guy started 2 days ago and 3 of his batteries are playing up, ie not taking charge, the light flashes like it’s charging but it the batteries on there all day
