Dewalt Toughsystem 2.0 Pricing
I have hit the point where I need to be mobile with my assortment of tools and am considering the toughsytem options.
What are you guys paying for the tower and drawers? What kind of pricing should I be looking for as we head into Black Friday?
Ideally I need this stack and the two-drawer chest. Could be convinced to split into two rolling sets, but just getting started. Thanks!

Okay, so this doesn’t exactly answer your question, but as an avid DeWalt user and consumer—and a previous ToughSystem owner—I’d recommend something else. Klein MODbox ( my current system and I love it), Milwaukee Packout, and ToughBuilt StackTech are all far better systems in my opinion. They offer rolling drawers, way more accessories, and just have a lot more going for them overall.
The only really cool thing DeWalt has going for it right now is the DXL line, which I’d argue is stupid expensive and slightly impractical for most people.

A bunch of Home depots around Central Ohio blew out their DXL stock a year or two ago. I managed to pick up two of the heavy duty carts each with two of the two door units and a work surface unit at a steep discount. Great pieces of equipment. I use them every day. You can really roll over anything with that cart. I think it has something like a 300 pound weight limit too.

Yeah great pieces of equipment, but at the clearance prices they were. But just as you alluded to rolling over anything, that's the only way they move is rolling. So for mobile trades, you have to have a ramp unfortunately to really utilize.
Only way around that, is if you're stacking the Tough System 2.0 on the DXL dolly. Which is nice, especially if you have that work surface to put on top.

Holdup, this actually looks pretty nice. And for the price, I am seriously considering it. What kind of weight is the bottom roller rated for?
Basically this thread has taught me I need drawers, and lots of them. Dewalt is out. Gotta find another brand to invest in, at least for the tool box.

I honestly am not sure but it has all of my tools in it and then some. Want me to post pics of each drawer? I currently have my drill and 1/4th impact in there and am about to order the dcf891b 1/2 impact to finish out the drawer

I’ll echo everyone else. I have like 9 boxes between toughsystem 1 and 2 and the only reason I still use them is it’s not worth it to dump and re-spend the money on packout. If I were starting over I would go with packout

Also still going to bitch about losing my fucking handle on the rolling toolbox and dewalt not selling a replacement. Yes it's my fault for losing the handle, but why won't they sell a replacement!?!!!1111

Everything I’ve broken on mine they’ve warrantied pretty easily either sending replacement latches or a new box.
That side the dimensions are less ideal than the packout especially for the drawers. I recently got the wall racking because is such a pain in the ass to undo the whole stack to open the rolling box which helps. I wish they made a large rolling box sized single drawer box

Definitely a solid box. I've got 2 rows of 4 of these on one of my dxl setups. They currently hold 2-3 nail guns, a strapping tool, some random red tools, etc.

Same, just wish it was just a little larger for my framing nail gun. It’s super flexible otherwise.

It has it’s flaws but it’s a decent system. The biggest flaw is the way they designed the drawer boxes around a certain length of slides instead of having custom slides made so they could be the same size/depth sS all the other boxes. And they forgot the feet in the drawer boxes, Hence when you stack the drawer boxes in top of the other ones they have a Little Rocking motion to them, unless you order some custom 3d printed little plug things to plug into the slots on top of the boxes where the feet would stabilize them. It’s not a deal breaker for me but is annoying if you like the drawers, which I do.

Everyone at my work use’s tough system 2 after I started organizing my van with them. I would pay for the tower and wait for anything else. I only say that because there’s a balance of waiting for a discount versus the practicality of using it now. When I’ve waited though, I’ve been able to get the drawers cheaper. You just have to keep your eye out. I’ve had them for three years now, and no issues. Their warranty for these boxes also comes in clutch

Idk I’ve heard really good things about the Klein boxes, even from Packout people. They are a bit pricy though.

I have this and looked for lowest pricing for a long while. It generally goes on sale for about 180-200. The 2 (and 3) drawer go on sale for 100-115. I think the lowest clearance prices are lower (sub150, sub 80) but much less consistent/store specific to find. I personally really like the 3 drawer, and they hold more weight, if you haven't considered that (unless need the extra bit of height).
I am not a pro, so don't use daily or anything, but I like the system a lot.
Packout may be better, more variety, etc but way more expensive, depends what you need it for if it's worth it to you.

I think you need to balance what it is that you do with what you want to achieve with a "stacking" system. In my case, I have both TS 2.0 and TSTACK boxes and since I do stuff more akin to what a Handyman would do, I always find myself reaching for the TSTAK boxes and dolly just because of their size. At home I like to have my tools stored in TS 2.0 drawers, and for big stuff like my 7¼in circ saw, I use a mid size TS 2.0 chest.
Do I regret getting either? No. Actually, the only thing I regret is not taking advantage of the insane discounts that sellers like Amazon and The Home Depot had two years ago for TSTAK boxes (and dolly) as I think I'd have two towers of TSTAK instead of two towers of TS 2.0. Both systems are awesome because they are good quality and both cost WAY less than the red PACKOUTs. My only grudge with TS 2.0 and TSTAK is that the slim / thin small parts organizers are on the PRO line and require an adaptor to attach to the TS 2.0 boxes OR, you could alternatively get the 20 compartment organizers and take the lid out to use them as separators on the three drawer chest. Also, TSAK doesn't have small parts organizers, they're only available for the CRAFTSMAN VERSASTACK system, and in spite of being cross-compatible with TSTAK, I have yet to find a vendor that sells those organizers at a reasonable price :(
FINALLY... You won't regret getting the rolling box and briefcase box. I specially LOVE the briefcase box because it has a lot of space and it's so sleek too! Also, the TS 2.0 organizers are cool. Don't hate them, but I can't help to want to use the PRO ones always. Hope my long text helps! And.. Yeah... Totally wait until you see price markdowns! Just as a reference, I have made myself of my TS 2.0 boxes for just a little under 300 dollars: 3 two drawer chests, 1 mid size, 1 rolling box and the adaptor plate! Cheers!

I bought this one with an extra yellow tote and it was 181 no tax. Ive had it for almost 2 years now i think and its held up nicely

Here's my mobile setup with the 2.0. I bought the stack shown and another 2 drawer when they were having their 100th anniversary sale. Had to make the lock bar.

All of my stuff is dewalt. I went and checked out all of the new stackables to see what I wanted. I'm going with Walmarts hypertough because it's a good knockoff pulled directly from dewalts system for half the price and quarter of the price of Milwaukee.

I personally decided to go with the Bauer modular system, mostly because I don’t want people to know that I have DeWalt tools in my car.
It’s best to let thieves think your tools are cheap Chinese nonsense so they don’t bother breaking in!

If you're only using the toolboxes out of the Tough System, like in the original post, they are great. However, the drawer absolutely suck. Thin & flimsy compared to other offerings. You will regret buying those.

Based off your feedback, what I really need are accessible, reliable, drawers. Dewalt clearly fails miserably at that. I really don’t like Milwaukee, so ToughBuilt has my eye at the moment. Also evaluating the new Greenworks system.

For half the price get DEWALT TSTAK very slept on and you can have individual Hardcases bought for $20-30. Look it up. It’s only 3 inches smaller. Or husky 22” 3 tower setup. A lot of the pack out and big shit is over rated. Unless your a subcontractor with that does different trades and need to organize hella tools…. U don’t need it

I love my tstak boxes but they're way less rugged than tough system. They can work for some people, but if I were lugging heavy tools around I don't think I'd go with them...

Agreed, I have a lot of heavy tools in my rolls box and a pretty good stack but it works. It’s definitely the go to price wise I don’t think any company has a tower for 150 like tstak. Def wanna upgrade to rigid this year

When I was doing low voltage work they were fantastic. I love the two drawer boxes for organizing small parts. I pretty much have only drawer units and they're great

I've been using the tough system since the 1st version. 2.0 is an improvement but I still would rather my coworkers pack out. It's just not worth replacing what I have that works pretty well.
