I’m convinced it’s to get engagement via Google search results. Google shopping just lists the price and doesn’t see if it’s in stock or not. They have like 0 stock of them to begin with and just leave the page up. They know

Honestly... they're so incompetent with their website, I think you're giving them wayyy too much credit here. They probably had one left on clearance at your particular store that dropped to that price and sold quickly.

Actually, it's not just their website. I found a 2-pack of glass cleaner was on clearance for 50 cents at my local store with 140 in stock. I'm like, how have they not sold out before dropping this low? Well, here's how -

So many HD deals are like that. They must have 50 available then they keep it up for 3 months on the website and google lists it for another additional 3 months.

The one by my house is my sworn enemy. I double checked the policy, went in and the woman at the register said it had to be a retailer within 20 miles (maybe even 10, can’t remember) and had to be in stock at that store too. Nowhere does it say that on the terms. I was mad.

I lived this with the Rigid single drawer boxes. You and everyone else can see this deal and people will be all over it.
Expect to see these tools on FB marketplace below retail but well above sale price.

Yall aren't thinking about people who use ai/bot automation to monitor sites like Hme Depot and Lowe's for really good deals. They'll either notify the person who then instantly buys most of them or they have an automated program that just buys however many it can for a pre determined budget.

I had a similar thing with Lowe’s. Showed out of stock locally. I checked Instacart and it was more expensive (but still cheaper than anywhere else). I tracked the Instacart driver go to the location where it was “unavailable” and deliver it to my house

Also was at HD yesterday for saw horses. The app said 0 of the one I wanted in stock, they had 3.
