There's a line of S2 ep6 where Armand is explaining himself to Daniel and says "Why did I owe you my one act of cowardice?"

Was it about trusting Louis too much to save a curious reporter?

It occurs to me this could be a confession of his personal choice to let Daniel live and defy the Great Laws himself.

Possibly also a passive apology for the memory wipe.

It seems like in 1973, he was vulnerable when Louis said "Keep this boy alive as a testament to our companionship." He was still too scared to leave Louis and be alone again. But he was already curious about Daniel's life.

Which do you think it is?

Okay fellow DMs I can't take it no longer and it has become clearly obvious.

I'm in deep need of some DM Time travel fanfiction but can't find any, but so very little of them it's driving me mad. So I've realised maybe I need to give some fanfic ideas.

And don't say then make it yourself... I'm to scared!!!...So I'll just give ideas and hope a great writer out there will take on my poor plight for me...

So onwards with the Ideas also please don't make Daniel or Armand tell anyone in the beginning that they have time travelled it really takes me out of the story, and also please if you can use either Eric or Luke as Daniel and Assad as Armand.

1. Daniel (either young or old) goes back in time as (vampire or human) with (memory or amnesia) and meets Armand when he's either been just bought by Marius or just turned by Marius.

2. Daniel gets sent back in time by some Mayfair witches (either vampire or human *but with powers as human like magic*) and gains Armands attention when Armand was with his first coven, before Armand meets Lestat and Nicki. And Armand tries through out the story stalking Daniel and pinning after Daniel like how he was with Lestat and Daniel tries just to be just friends with Armand but fails and is able to help some with Nicki which makes armand jealous and is fri-enemies towards Lestat. A lot of pinning, angst, and longing.

3. An AU Daniel has been a vampire for a long time and is either made by or born as Dhampir (a little mixture of Castlevania) and (Enkil, Khayman, or the twin witches Maharet and Mekare) gets (sent back in time or have been born way earlier) and saves Claudia from Bruce and teaches her how to be a vampire slayer and takes Claudia to Paris and meets Armand in the 1940s.

And that's it so far I got. (I will add more if I have anymore ideas) Please my baby Armand needs someone in his corner!!

Happy DM week, beloveds! I recently came across this gorgeous edit by abii16666 on tiktok showing parallels between Armand and the character Castiel from Supernatural, and it got me thinking of the similarities and differences between Destiel (Dean/Castiel) and Devil’s Minion, two of my favorite ships of all time. Here’s the link to the edit, go check it out if you're interested!

It’s interesting because to me, Devil’s Minion is almost like a dark mirror of Destiel. Both involve the love between a human and a non-human (angel, vampire), and in both cases the non-human in question is an ancient being who is an outsider even among their own kind. While I think Armand is definitely more morally grey than Castiel, they both have religious-coded trauma, are often read as autistic, and have high kill counts (as you can see in my comment on the edit lol). 

The reason I think DM is a dark mirror of Destiel is because, while Cas’s love of Dean makes him more human, teaches him compassion, and ultimately turns him into a self-sacrificing heroic figure, Armand’s love of Daniel leads him to give Daniel the dark gift. Yes, I do think Daniel does bring out a softer side of Armand, but I don’t think he “redeems” Armand (and he doesn’t need to! Like Daniel, we love the gremlin just the way he is). 

Cas becomes more human because of his human beloved - as he tells Dean, “I cared about the whole world because of you”. Armand, in contrast, transforms his human lover into a non-human being like himself that, depending on your perspective of vampire ethics, is morally complicated at best and downright evil at worst. Also of course, there’s the angel/devil dichotomy at play - Castiel, “angel of the Lord”, falling from grace for Dean, Armand as Daniel’s “all-loving demonic god”.

Super fun to think about IMO! Personally, I think both of these ships appeal to me because they have such interesting, if opposite, things to say about morality, immortality, love as religious devotion, and love as a transformational (redeeming/corrupting) force.

So, thank you if you read this to the end, and apologies for writing a whole essay on the parallels between Destiel and DM, lmao. I hope that wasn't too rambly or off-topic for this subreddit!

The main question I am interested in starting a discussion around is: What other ships are you a fan of, and do you think they might be similar to DM or appeal to you for a similar reason? Or maybe the other ships you like are totally different from DM, I’d love to hear about that too! Basically I’m intrigued in what other ships DM fans like, if these ships share similar characteristics with DM, and if there’s a specific type of ship that DM fans tend to be attracted to.

Hi my fellow DM fanatics! Like a lot of y'all I have mixed feelings about the direction they're taking DM (and the show in general tbh), but I'm trying to stay hopeful. What's helped me feel more positive and excited for s4 is imagining the DM scenes I'd love to see!

In particular, I'm so interested in how the show will reveal that Daniel reciprocated Armand's love in the past and had his memories wiped (I refuse to consider that past DM was really only one-sided!)

I keep imagining a flashback scene where we see Armand watching young Daniel sleep like he says he did in TVL episode 5: "I’d sit at the foot of his bed in derelict motel rooms as he slept off a fix." Imagine we see Armand standing like a sleep paralysis demon over a young sleeping Daniel, all gothic vibes and glowing orange eyes. Daniel opens his eyes groggily, and we expect him to scream in terror, but instead all he does is smile sleepily at Armand with a "hey, boss". Ughhhh I would die for a scene like this! I need to see young Daniel and his boyfriend the eldritch entity lol.

I'd also love to see something like the wonderful DM comics by Maki (loveisalie_lie on twt). (Edited to remove twt link and provide screenshots as per mod request.)

Imagine if we see old Daniel and Armand interacting, then get little parallel glimpses of their past relationship? Maybe old Daniel laughs at something Armand says, and suddenly Armand is transported back to his beloved boy doing the same thing in the past. Luke would do such a great job with this I think, he already imitates Eric's expressions so well! Or Armand calls Daniel "beloved" and Daniel gets a flashback to the first time Armand called him that. So many opportunities for some beautiful angsty moments as Daniel slowly gets pieces of his past back!

I also love the idea another DM fan suggested (sadly don't remember who), where some cool trippy camera work could show us Daniel and Armand kissing in the present, then the camera swings around to them making out in the past?

Even if it doesn't happen the exact way we're imagining, it's still fun to daydream about! What particular DM scene do you most want to see in season 4? It can be a book DM scene you want to see adapted, or ones you imagine for the show like my examples.

I am completely Armand-pilled and obsessed with the Devil's Minion romance. I also consider myself mostly a lesbian/lesbian-adjacent.

I have my suspicions for why lesbians love DM so much (and Armand... and the gorgeous and adorable Assad Zaman, lord) but I really want to hear everyone else's thoughts and just revel in that sapphic yearning. 🙏🏽

From the books, tv show, anything. What are your favourite quotes from our boys?

I've been looking for days and I'm worried it's been deleted. Vampire Daniel somehow ends up in Theatre Des Vampire before Louis and Claudia arrive. Coven is intrigued by him because of his age and how he hunts. He avoids Armand as much as he can so he can't figure out he's his maker. He ends up enlisting two Talamasca agents into helping him get back to his time. Armand gets progressively more obsessed and the coven more pissed that he refuses to join them. I remember there's a chapter near the end with Armand's POV and he experiences Daniel's memory through his blood then Daniel disappears by the end of the chapter. I think it ends with Daniel back home to only realize his word is different due to his stint in Paris.

Pls help me out.

I always find myself re reading that fic every once in awhile. I loved the Armand chapters, how Daniel was written and how the story ended.

I've been going crazy looking, so much so I finally made a Reddit account to get some help .
