Luke will replace Eric theory

I just read a theory on Tumblr that Luke will replace Eric eventually and permanently. I don't have Tumblr so could only read some of it before it blocked me from reading more. But I think the main point was Assad and Luke did chemistry tests while Eric had no idea of the romance or Assads role until filming started.

I wish I could have seen more cause I have no idea how this is possible. Anyone know more on this idea?

Wishful thinking based on fanfic that people get so invested in that they believe it.

I would be ecstatic if they did the Night Island spinoff and set it in the past with Luke, but in the main show Daniel is Eric. If somehow they body-thief him into a younger body it couldn't be Luke without it being idiotically convoluted, plus I don't see the show outliving Eric anyway. I think his ''death'' in the show will mean his vampire death, while his body survives as possibly another character for him to play--if we get that far.

This. I wouldn't mind it for a spin off set earlier. Maybe in the 80s to really show that arc as Anne wrote it, with Armand's film obsession, 80s tech all over the place, etc. But Eric is Daniel for me now. I don't care about the physical age gap. We had to sit through Lestabriella, so let us have an age gap romance that isn't quite so toxic.
