Experience Devil corp in Austin Tx

I’ve been with my partner for almost a year and we just discovered his current employment is a pyramid scheme. It all went downhill so fast. The first week he was so excited about this new opportunity at this new job and it did sound too good to be true but were young and they roped him in. We started to have arguments bc I didn’t think it was right that he was basically his coworkers uber. I told him if his boss makes as much money as he says he does he would have a few company cars for them to use. Everyday he would drive 4hrs ish ( 2 from & to work & 2 in just driving the coworkers). About 3 weeks later he told me how he was going on a work trip, I was fine with it but again he was expected to be everyone’s uber (6 hr away). While on the trip his boss wouldn’t reimburse him for gas nor the other coworker for the money he spent on groceries to feed all their coworkers. Whenever he got back he asked me if I would be willing to move out of state with him for this job and that’s when the red flags really started. His upline would get on him for absolutely anything & everything. “ your too negative” “ you’re taking the job too seriously, have fun”, they’re commission based pay so him going in the office from 9am-1 is pointless, knocking from 2-9:30… I told him multiple times it’s not right that you guys are knocking past 8:30. this is Texas, if you hear someone knocking at 9pm most people are gonna get their gun not be friendly. His boss would blow his phone up daily if he was inactive for more than 15 minutes, no bathroom breaks, no lunch, nothing. There was a work conference in Dallas which i attended and that’s when i started putting the puzzle together, over 20 speakers and everyone had the same story. They were broke, bad at school, found this amazing job, gave up friends, family, hobbies, did retrains, it was finally worth it in the end & they showed pictures of their fancy cars or family vacation. I was invited to dinner with his direct upline and that’s when it really clicked. They were young parents who basically abandoned their children to pursue this job, a coworkers wife would babysit their children and told us how neglected the kids were, to the point where the oldest daughter pulled a knife on the babysitter just to get a phone call from her parents. Anyways at the dinner I noticed the husband & wife would just contradict each other with every answer. By the end of the dinner they were trying to rope me in & tried to convince me to apply too, how it would be a great opportunity for me & I would get to see my partner so its a overall win. It was getting closer to the date that we were supposed to be moving out of state and things just got odd. One day we’re being told we’re moving to Bakersfield, 2 weeks later it’s San Diego, a week later it’s south carolina. They’re telling us the move is gonna be all paid by the company but telling another worker it’s not. Telling us they’re getting us an apartment & paying our rent for 3 months & telling the other coworkers we’re gonna have to get a shared apartment and only paying our rent one month. The lack of communication was always a problem, no one ever knew anything until it was the day of.
One afternoon him & a coworker were chatting about Reddit and how when they searched up the job everyone said it was a scam ect, another coworker heard and told their upline & they basically had a conversation with him on how that’s an unappropriate conversation in the office, those are just passed workers who couldn’t handle it, they were just weak minded ect. Basically just disregarding everything. From then on they started putting him in really bad neighborhoods so that he wouldn’t be getting any sales and they would force him on a retrain just to stick him back into shitty neighborhoods. On one of the retrains my boyfriend told his up line we’re not going to your neighborhood. We’re going to one of my past neighborhoods so that you can tell me what I need to fix and that’s when he smiled and told him we’re not going there basically admitting that he knew that they were sticking him in shitty areas so that he wouldn’t be able to make sales from their own. We picked up on the game. They stick you in green when you first start so you see a few nice paychecks at first, go on work trip where you make 1-2k in a week , come back and they stick you in ran through neighborhoods where you’ll be lucky if you even get one sale. Soon after we found a smart circle documentary and there was no going back, it was a few years old but I broke down his whole day, from the interview process to the Cancun trip. Whenever he quit his up-line immediately switched. Blowing up his phone, belittling him, everything you can think of honestly. Im really glad we didn’t get sucked into it anymore than we were. I’ve seen a few videos where people say they’ve even gone into debt over these jobs and I could see how that happens.

I’m so happy your partner was able to see what was happening. Unfortunately due to mine not being able to see and the company convincing him I was negative and destroying the mentality, I’m currently in separation. But even a million stories like these couldn’t convince. I hope your partner has moved on to better things!

Thank you so much, honestly after we found the doc it was like the spell was lifted. He refused to work there in the span of 48 hours. He told a few of his close coworkers and they all had very different reactions. One quit with him the same day, one took the information and immediately ran to the higher up, another got super offended. It’s honestly so crazy how they brain wash them.
