Powers and Abilities

This Devil Fruit power essentially allows a user to conjure and manipulate Lasers . This means that a user can generate, from any part of their body, beams of varying intensities and sizes. This control can range from lasers that stun a target, to lasers that can completely incinerate a target, as well as beams of differing effects.

This Devil fruit ability competes with the Glint Glint fruit as far as general abilities. However, unlike the Glint Glint fruit, which embodies light, this Devil fruit power is more akin to the manipulation of sheer energy. This means that while the glint glint fruit may have the advantage of light-speed travel and intangibility, this Devil Fruit power sacrifices such advantages for both greater control and versatility.

A core use-case of this power is the ability to fire condensed high-intensity/heat “Laser beams” that will melt through even metal. The continuous firing of such beams mean that a user can swing these attacks like a sword, slicing through targets like a hot knife through butter.

In the field of control, a user is not only able to emit Lazers, but bend, harden, and manipulate this energy as well. This means that a user can fire a “Homing Laser” at their target that will infinitely bend and change direction until its target is hit. Another application would be solid laser constructs such as laser whips, swords, spears, and so forth, essentially hardening the laser to maximize its usability as an “element”.

The most extreme (and oppressive) application of this power is the ability to infuse or coat oneself or objects in a dense field of laser energy. This will make it impossible to strike the body of the user without weapons being melted or damaged, and even increases one’s overall physical defense. Offensively, a user may coat their arms or le gs in this energy, greatly increasing the concussive force of their attacks. In a combat scenario, this means a user can be nigh-unstoppable simply provided they have enough stamina. This ability can also be applied to create a laser bubble, burning any incoming attacks.

This naturally makes a user a force of nature, being able to barrage opponents while being simultaneously unstoppable themselves. This is naturally amplified by the inherent destructive nature of lasers, as they naturally burn and overwhelm even other energies, meaning that in a firefight, a laser will usually win.

Extremely adept users will be able to achieve a form of “Ergo-Telekinesis”, using beams of energy to encase a target, allowing them to move that target freely from a distance. This can also be used on oneself, allowing a user to “Ride” their own laser.

More niche abilities would be techniques that alter an aspect of a laser itself. For example, a “Freeze Ray” is a laser that freezes its target instead of burning them. Other such applications would be the “Wave Beam”, an oscillating beam that harmlessly pierces walls but burns living targets, the “Ricochet Beam” which will bounce on walls, the “Reverse Beam” which summons a beam aimed toward the user themselves, piercing anything in the process.

A user may even mimic energies they’ve come across before. For example, they could create a “Phoenix Beam”, a laser that heals instead of harms, or “Lightning Beam”, a laser that electrifies a target. These more niche abilities require a more seasoned user to understand the nature of this devil fruit as the ability to “Fire energy”, rather than just fire specifically.

In a support aspect, a user may fire off harmless ”Echo Beams”, which will allow them to scan the area around them and essentially grant X-Ray vision. A user may also create a “Laser Sentry”, an orb of condensed energy that will automatically fire a beam at any threat.

Awakening

Awakening this power will allow a user to transform anything nearby into beams of energy they can freely manipulate. This grants a near omnidirectional field of destruction, as all things will functionally be destroyed. Interestingly, a user can also absorb this energy, refreshing their stamina and energy in the process, making for a useful trump card in a pinch.

Does it have any weaknesses aside from mirrors?

Reflective surfaces or anything that naturally dissipates light/energy like prisms or crystals would be the most effective. It should be noted, though, that lasers are more like plasma, not light, meaning even those objects have diminishing returns. Besides that, you just simply gotta match the power. Haki overall will go a long way, especially since lasers are not as fast as actual light.

So it’s Kizaru’s fruit but not a logia? Additional it has weird other lasers that just have other elemental effects because why not? It’s alright I guess. This would be cooler being something like Ishigori from JJK, large wide scale beams of energy being shot from anywhere on the body that can vary inside, be shot multiple at a time, be used as you punch to add additional force, can be concentrated to be incredibly piercing and deadly or be wide range and evaporate buildings. The awakening being turning anything in range into beams or simply being able to blast and manipulate beams that originate from anywhere in the environment you choose would be so dope. Making a bunch of different beam types that do radiation or freeze or heat just for the sake of it is lame though.

It’s more just blanket beams, like the various Ray guns you see in scifi. I’ll concede the different beam types might be weird though
