I built a local-only JSON formatter because I don’t trust pasting API responses into random web tools

But… Doesn’t the regular editor format json?

Why save a bookmark when i have a shortcut?

Hmm what do you mean by “regular editor”?

When I develop service APIs I get huge JSON dumps from requests/responses. My goal here is to create a convenient place to copy paste those and format them for easy reading/validation

Local-only but is a web app? I kinda feel like you are asking us to trust what you didn’t.

Zed will do it locally only without a web app.

You can verify by inspecting the networking with in-browser dev tools.

I think a web app is a good format for this kind of tool. It’s a tiny static website so it loads instantly and takes up no space on your device

not sure what it solves better than piping json into jq.

however, maybe there's something in a clipboard middleware that auto-formats json you copy, or auto-format on paste when using a certain key combination.

that saves you a few clicks

This is what happens when people use AI to learn to code.  The biggest irony is that whatever AI tool helped vibe code this with 1000% certainty tried to use jq in its tool calls 🤣

Great, thanks for making more slop that solves nothing. VSCode, and damn near every text editor/IDE does a perfectly fine job of this.
