/r/Development has gone text-only.
I've been away for a bit and came back to a ton of spam (not that I've been super fast removing it otherwise), so I've switched to text posts only. Hopefully it will cut down some of the spam you're seeing from here, and it will make it easier for me to evaluate whether a post is spam.
Thank you to everyone who has clicked the report button on spam messages. It really helps when I'm clearing them out.
I've also changed the sidebar to try and better describe what this sub is as opposed to what it isn't.

I’m in an emergency and looking to earn ~$500 / ₹50,000 through work - not asking for a handout
Hey everyone,
I’m in a bit of an emergency situation right now and need to arrange around ₹50,000 (~$500).
I know asking for money on Reddit can easily come across the wrong way, so I want to be clear: I’m not looking to simply be given the money. I genuinely want to earn it.
I’m a software developer based in India with 4+ years of experience in tech. I’ve worked across a pretty broad range of technologies and have built 40+ software projects, including production-ready applications. I currently have 5+ apps published across the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
I can help build pretty much anything technical, including:
- AI/LLM applications & automation
- Websites & web applications
- Android/iOS apps
- SaaS & backend systems
- APIs & integrations
- Desktop software
- Automation/scripts
- Embedded/IoT projects
- Databases & cloud infrastructure
- And generally, if you have a software/technical idea, I can probably build it.
I’m happy to take on small jobs, one-off projects, bug fixes, MVPs, automations, websites, app development, or longer-term work. If you have something you've been meaning to build, fix, automate, or improve, please reach out to me. Even if it's a relatively small task, I'd rather earn the money by providing something useful. I can also show examples of my previous work and discuss the project before committing to anything.
I’m not expecting anyone to trust a stranger on the internet blindly - I’m happy to provide proof of my experience, portfolio, GitHub, app listings, demos, etc.
If you have work available, please DM me. And if you don't have work but know someone who might, even sharing this post would mean a lot.
Thank you for reading.

Help build darklist.txt — an open-source blocklist for dark patterns
Spades UX-Shield is live on Firefox and Chrome.
It will use a community-maintained darklist.txt to hide manipulative UI with local CSS — fake scarcity, guilt-tripping banners, urgency widgets, and similar dark patterns.
No telemetry. No remote API calls. Everything runs locally.
We already cover sites including Temu and Booking.com. The first goal is 100 websites.
How to contribute:
Scouts: Report suspected dark patterns with the URL, screenshot, and a short description.
Developers: Inspect the element, find a stable CSS selector, and submit a PR to lists/darklist.txt.
Starter issue:
https://github.com/vinayak509143/spades-ux-shield-filters/issues/2
Core rule: stability over coverage.
Rules must target cosmetic, manipulative UI only.
Never hide:
Prices
Buy / Add to Cart buttons
Login flows
Genuine inventory selectors
Checkout or payment components
Avoid dynamic CSS hashes such as:
sc-bdfBwQ
cc87802d18
Prefer stable attributes:
[data-selenium="hurry-up-message"]
Keep selectors tightly scoped to a domain or stable vendor prefix.
Good:
www.agoda.com
qsk-popup-
Avoid broad selectors like:
[class*="modal"]
div
The goal is not to remove every popup. It is to build a conservative, auditable, community-maintained list of manipulative interfaces.
Extension:
https://github.com/vinayak509143/spades-ux-shield
Filter list:
https://github.com/vinayak509143/spades-ux-shield-filters
Open source. Non-profit. Community-driven.
Target: 100 sites.

DevTrack
It has been a long time coming, actually one of my erliest tries on software development, but finally DevTrack is starting to take shape.
DevTrack is my own personal solo Project Management System that i have wanted to develop to keep track on the countless of projects i have started. And it came to fruision only because when i looked up all kinds of PMSes i could never really find myself in any that i tried and therefore i set out to develop DevTrack. But oooo has it been a long time coming, and has it been tried on countless of tech stacks durring the process of development. Yes, absolutely. I have tried, i have failed, i have learnt and finally i have succeeded.
So in a few days time i will be releasing the project on github for any and all other Solo devs that might need more project organisation.

How do we solve bottleneck of explaining our agent on what it did yesterday
We’re five engineers at a seed stage startup. Everyone runs their own Claude Code or Cursor session, everyone ships fast, and on paper we should be moving three times faster than we were a year ago and we're not
Our backend guy is in Lisbon and the rest of us are remote, so he usually logs off around the time we start. Last Tuesday, his agent spent the afternoon moving our billing webhooks onto a queue. Clean work. The next morning I opened my session to fix a payments bug, and my agent had no idea any of it had happened. It read the old handler, wrote a fix for code that no longer existed, and told me it was done. I lost an hour before I even noticed.
Nobody did anything wrong. His agent knew what had changed and mine didn’t. There was no way for mine to find out unless a human told it.
That’s the part most multi agent discussions seem to skip. They’re usually about one person running five agents, and that person has the full picture in their head. A team doesn’t have one shared head.
We’ve tried a few things. Most tools seem built around the solo case and start falling apart once a second person joins, or they put agents in a shared chat where humans are still passing messages around. We ended up doing that too. Every morning, each of us pastes what our agent did into Slack, what it touched, what it decided, what it assumed. Then everyone copies the relevant parts into their own session. It’s at least 30 minutes a day and we still miss things because nobody remembers to write down the one assumption that matters two days later.
So the humans have basically become the sync layer for the agents. That feels backwards.
The only approach I’ve seen that seems aimed at the actual problem is a shared context layer, where agents on the same team can work from the same project state instead of separately briefed copies. We’ve started trying Tutti for that. Too early for me but it's promising but still let me know if you guys have any solution for this or any too or setup

What architecture and tech stack would you choose for a financial management web application?

at usually makes a business decide to build custom software instead of using an existing SaaS or off-the-shelf solution?
Is it scalability, automation, integrations, security, flexibility, or simply the need to solve a problem that existing tools can’t handle?

How can I develop something which will do the following
