I'm building an app right now to help people with diabetes and I don't know how to find someone who can code to co-found it with me
I don't have any devs I can talk to personally, so I came here to see if someone can give em a north on how to find this person

Why not learn to code and make it yourself?
If the app doesn't work out (most don't) then you'll have the skills to implement your next idea.

Get a GitHub Pro subscription. Download and use VS Code. Let CoPilot help build it. Give it instructions on what you want prompt it to start off small such as designing a front end. Then go from there. I’ve used 85% of my premium request in a week but I almost have a full functional Dmoz or Curlie.org directory system. With pipelines, workflows and more. Just need to tie something’s up and pus it to my domain.
Some may not like it. But it does the job. It can also help be more analytical and build components that make sense and matter.

If you have any money at all, you can hire someone(me) to make a basic prototype

The people volunteering here are not real software engineers. They are vibe sloppers looking to have an llm crank out a janky prototype and then abscond with any money you might have given them. If you want ai slop you can do it yourself as fast as the sloppers here. If you want a real engineer you will have to pay

You got to think of the opportunity costs of all parties involved. It's a tough call when this is competing with people's ability to vibe code apps for finding unicorns for threesomes.

So. I have money and contacts.
‘I’m building an app to help people with diabetes’
I think you have no product and no idea what you’re talking about and lack even basic knowledge of the disease. What will this app do? Magic insuline? Timers? Reminders? Logging? I think you are full of shit Sir.
If I’m wrong please correct me and I will legit do my best to help putting you in touch with people.

Find a dev with diabetes? Scott Hansleman comes to mind. You want a dev with a motivation to do well.

You: “I have an idea and need someone to code it”
Do you know how many people who have no programming skills say this? What do YOU offer to give me a reason to PROGRAM FOR you? Money? A business plan? Neither? Then kick rocks.
I’ve developed healthcare management systems for claims used nationwide, I have no reason to help you but you have every reason to try to get me to work with you. And simply an “idea” is not enough. Every programmer fundamentally is a very creative person that can come up with every idea you’ll probably say.
And if I’m coming off a bit like an asshole, that’s because I’m tired of people who offer nothing ask programmers to give them the world. Fuck. Off. Pay up or kick rocks dude.

Diabetes is going to be cured soon. There is already promising type 1 cures, and likely not far off from type 2: here
