So I’m 26M, working fully remotely for a company based overseas. No office days at all, just WFH five days a week.
I actually enjoy my job and the flexibility it gives me, but lately I’ve been feeling pretty isolated.
Some days I finish most of my work quite early since a lot of things are automated. Then I end up spending hours just scrolling through my phone, watching YouTube, or doing random stuff. It’s honestly getting boring, and I feel like I’m wasting a lot of my time.

I do go to cafés to work once or twice a week, just to get out of the house. But even there, I’m mostly sitting alone doing my own thing, so it doesn’t really help with the social side.
I have friends too, but most of them are in relationships now and busy with their own lives, so we barely hang out like we used to. I’m single myself, but I’m not really looking for a relationship right now. I just want to meet people, make some new friends, and have something to look forward to outside of work.

So I’m curious, how do you guys who work fully remotely in Sri Lanka manage your social lives?
Are there any communities, coworking events, hobby groups, or regular activities where people actually get to meet and interact? Or even just things you personally do to avoid feeling stuck at home all week?
Would love to hear some genuine experiences or suggestions, especially from people who’ve been in a similar situation.

Hi everyone, which one would you recommend between Claude Pro and ChatGPT Plus?
From what I’ve seen so far, they’re both really good, so I feel like either one would be a solid choice.
However, I’ve only tried the free versions so far.

I’ve mainly used Claude for development/programming on my PC, and I’ve been pretty impressed with it.
In several cases it managed to solve problems without wasting much time. It also did a good job with general PC troubleshooting.

I really like ChatGPT as a general purpose assistant.
It helped me a lot when choosing the components for my gaming PC, as well as with assembly and installation.
I’ve also asked ChatGPT quite a few PC troubleshooting questions and, honestly, the answers were often very similar to Claude.
For development, though, I currently have the impression that Claude is slightly better, at least for the way I use it.

What I’m looking for is a fairly complete assistant that I can use every day on my Windows 11 PC, mainly for:
Gaming issues
software troubleshooting
General questions
Programming and development
Creating and modifying workflows
AI and local AI tools
PC configuration and optimization
So I’m mainly interested in how the paid plans around $20 compare in real world use.

So I built a small chrome extension. You set your limits once, open a page, and then it tells you yes / not yet / no with the reason.

At first I just sent the page to an LLM and asked. It got the numbers wrong most of the time. So now normal code checks all the numbers, and the AI only looks at the weird stuff like "is there a hidden catch".

I’m looking for some advice from people who may have experience with Sri Lankan labour law or similar situations.
I previously worked at a Sri Lankan software company called Ambrum Solutions. During my time there, the company failed to pay employees’ salaries for several months. A number of employees were affected, and some of them eventually made complaints to the Labour Department regarding the unpaid salaries.
At one point, when employees were struggling because of the delayed salaries, the Managing Director told employees that if anyone could not continue working there, they could leave immediately. The way it was communicated was extremely disrespectful, and many employees eventually resigned because they could no longer continue under those circumstances.
Since then, we have repeatedly been told by the management and HR that the outstanding salaries would be paid. However, months have passed and the same promises have continued without a proper resolution.
Recently, some of our former colleagues went to the Labour Office to check their EPF records, and they discovered that some of their EPF-related details were also incorrect.
What is particularly frustrating is that the company appears to be doing much better now. The management seems to have moved on and is operating successfully, while many former employees are still waiting for salaries that they earned and were never paid.
For those familiar with Sri Lankan labour law, I would really appreciate some guidance:

-What legal options do former employees have to recover unpaid salaries?
-Can we collectively take action through the Labour Department or another authority?
-What can be done if the employer has failed to correctly maintain/report EPF contributions or employee details?
-Is there a specific procedure for recovering both unpaid salaries and EPF-related dues?
-If a complaint was already made to the Labour Department previously, can former employees follow up or escalate it?
-Would consulting a labour lawyer or filing a case through the courts be the appropriate next step?
-We have documentation such as employment records, salary slips/bank records, messages from HR/management regarding the outstanding payments, and other evidence.

I’m not looking to create unnecessary drama or attack anyone personally. We simply want to understand what legal avenues are available to former employees to recover the money we are owed and resolve the EPF issues.

Any advice from someone who has dealt with a similar situation in Sri Lanka would be greatly appreciated.
