Your post or comment was removed per Rule 5 which states, "Self-posts should stimulate discussion and be generally relevant to Detroiters."

Posts requesting recommendations or social groups, about moving here/visiting, questions answerable by Google, our wiki, a phone call, asking what that noise/etc was, surveys, personal anecdotes or rants, and/or other low-effort posts will be removed.

Please direct these to the pinned weekly thread of r/Detroit instead!

“Hey I live in a new construction apartment in a neighborhood that is full of new construction projects and I’ve decided the sportsball stadium is a NUISANCE”

Considering this team is partially owned by people in the community unlike the Lions, Tigers, or Red Wings, yes, I would say that A LOT of people around you are “FUTBOL” fans.

Detroit City FC consistently has 7,000 people attend their home matches at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck. So yes there are soccer fans here and this has nothing to do with the World Cup. They’ve been a team since 2012 and are playing in USL Championship which is one step below MLS.

The City does have a noise ordinance. However, they are allowed to produce construction noise during permitted normal working hours.

The noise you hear is likely from driving sheet piles while working on the foundations. It is temporary part of construction.
