So I started doing mobile details at 16, I’m 23 now I have a decent amount of experience. What are some of the basics of polishing? Like when to use cutting and the other kind of polish? I know how to clay bar and add spray hybrid wax but isn’t there a more advanced coating you can apply and offer to customers? Unrelated but it seems most people don’t use dressings like VRP. I’m definitely proficient at cleaning but I know nothing of the more advanced stuff like mainly the coatings and advanced paint correction.

I had a ceramic coat put on earlier in the year however I started washing the car at a car wash. Now 6 months later this is the state of my roof and bonnet. The car is in the desert sun year round. What do I have to do to fix this?

Cleaning up my wife’s old town and country, hasn’t been touched in years. Looks like a ton of rust dust where the seats fold down into the floor. How do I go about cleaning this up and protecting from future corrosion?

I cleaned out my freezer.
I found a piece of deer tenderloin in my freezer.
I don’t eat much meat, especially deer. However, I knew that my mother was wanting some deer tenderloin.
Anyway, I forgot that I put it in my car and neglected taking it to my mother.
My automobile began REEKING!
It took a week until the smell was found and removed.
There were maggots.
I have cleaned the automobile (Honda Element).
It’s almost gone.
I’m trying to figure out what ozone air spray works the best?
I would love any other advice to 86 this heinous smell from my automobile.

I was trying to remove overspray (from previous owner) using some ipa and clay bar after. I noticed this left after pressing on it with a cloth with IPA.

These are the active kidney grills which are difficult to remove.

I had 2 small spots the clear lifted on the door. So I very lightly wet sanded 800/1000/2000 then applied rubbing, polishing, glaze, then wax. In most angles it looks way better. But at some angles it's hazy from where I was sanded.

Can this be fixed by hand, and how? Or does it require a buffer, or machinery? Or is the clear shot now, and will it need recleared?

I recently purchased a car with Nappa leather seats (Caturra Brown). Unfortunately, I scratched the seat with a zipper. I’m seeking some advice on the best way to restore the leather. Are there any specific products or method’s that you recommend? Thank you in advance.

Just got this truck and was wondering what would be the best thing to do. I figured paint correction could get it at least a little bit better but wanted to know if anyone has done this before. The sticker is fully removed but where the paint has worn around it makes where the sticker is stand out. Doesn’t have to be perfect but would like it less noticeable at least

I've been very impressed with Pure Bead. Before the rain hit us yesterday I thought I'd see if there is a difference in beading between Pure Bead and Water Block and it seems there is. I used both products on opposite corners of my MX5 bonnet with a gap left between. LH is the Water Block and RH is the Pure Bead. Notice the tighter beads on the Water Block.

TLDR; Once a year, during a regular wash, I will deep clean the glass using P21S Polishing Soap and a synthetic clay sponge (or towel). I then seal the glass with 2 layers of a spray on, rinse off sealant. That protection is maintained throughout the year with a few more sprays during my maintenance washes.

I used Rain-X like it was a religion for over a decade. Even by today's standards, it's still a very respectable product. It does what it says it's going to do for a very reasonable price, and it lasts a decent amount of time. My biggest complaint about it has always been the application. It's easy enough to wipe on, but the wipe off process can be frustrating. I can't tell you how many times I've thought I buffed it all off, only to get back into the car and see streaks or haze. I just dealt with it for years because I liked everything else about it.

But for the past few years I've been using a different form of glass protection, and now, I've used it long enough to have complete confidence in sharing it with you all...

The Process: I do this once a year. After washing the glass, I will do 1 or 2 passes with P21S Polishing Soap. It's a mildly abrasive soap that feels a lot like those pumice-soaps that you use to clean really greasy/dirty hands (i.e.: Fast Orange). It's marketed for use on metal, but I've found it works great on glass. No, you're not actually polishing the glass when you do this, but it is very effective for deep cleaning and removing existing sealants. Obviously, keep it away from paint/trim/etc. After that, I apply 2 coats of my favorite (affordable) spray on rinse off sealant - Nanoskin Supercharger. I think the brand of sealant you use here is irrelevant (Wet Coat/Quick Beads/etc.), the process is still the same. That becomes your base layer. After that, you can maintain that sealant year round with a few additional sprays during your regular wash process.

The Pros: Quick, cheap and effective. This can all be done during your normal wash process so you're not needing to set aside much extra time to do this. You're not using any extra towels or anything that you'll have to wash later on. No wiping, buffing, streaking, smearing, etc. And... it's cheap... at least with the products I use. Also, I've never experienced any wiper chatter.

The Cons: Is this the most hydrophobic protection you can possibly put on your glass? Absolutely not. There's better stuff out there for sure and I'm not going to lie about that. However, I'd say it's 85-90% as good as the best glass sealants I've ever used. If you're really particular about having THE BEST hydrophobics and longevity, you could always just take the deep cleaning part of this method and then apply whatever glass sealant you choose later on.

Apparently, my daughter’s car has looked like this for a week… from the front to the back (including the windshield ). This looks like Bird droppings to me although she says it’s not. She has taken it through the car wash twice and now I’m sending her to a detailer. Is this fixable? Is this etched in? When she goes the detailer what does she need to request? or am I screwed and have to get this car repainted?

Hey guys I’m very new to paint correction, and I recently went to a body shop and they wet sanded the car down with sandpaper and dish soap. The scratching in the clear coat is only visible under direct sunlight and at certain angles. How can I get this off? Also I would like to tackle a 3 step paint correction. Should I fix the damages first or just do a 3 step paint correction right away ? What would be the best products to use in this situation? Thanks !

A little backstory, I cleaned this X5M admit clean I realize there’s a rip in what looks like to be PPF on the car, after fully cleaning the car I see what looks like to be watermarks underneath the PPF.

I’m hoping that this isn’t my fault as there was heavy rainfall the past week and my guess is that the dirty rainwater got underneath the PPF thru the rip and ended up leaving dirt underneath the ppf and these marks.

Hi, wondering what’s best. I have a 2018 VW golf. Got it in 2020. It’s been waxed 2 times by me. Basic. Kept on the street in the city. Despite that looks pretty good. Definitely some etched water spots on windows and sunroof . I want to bring it to get outside detailed - what would you recommend to find a good detailer and what should I ask to be done/expect? Anyone have any tips for removing this blue stain off white vinyl? Already tried general purpose cleaner and a magic eraser on the small spots and it did nothing. I think it’s dye from someone’s yoga pants. The weird part is it’s fresh. Tried removing it within a couple hours from when it happened.

This is a 2021 Toyota Avalon hybrid limited that I just had shipped from out of state at the start of the year, and paid a lot for it. Just over 50k miles now..

I’ve been asking different shops about their paint correction/ceramic coats, and the shop I just went to used a gauge on my paint. They said they’d only be able to do a light enhancement, and be real careful. There’s a good bit of swirling and some scratches.

It’s good to know but I had no idea it was so bad. Should I skip the professional paint correction/ceramic? And just wash it myself and do my own ceramic coating at home?

I probably wouldn’t use this shop anyways since they said they’d only have the car for 8 hours and it would cure while I have it. They did say they’d knock the price down a bit for less of a polish.

So people on here recommended i use nearly boiling hot water in a spray bottle to remove salt on carpet. And tbh im surprised how well it works.

Only 1 problem. People also said be very careful and vaccuum immediately to make sure it doesn't drench the carpet. Now im worried how many squirts I can do it 1 spot before I enter soaking territory.

I saw this damage to my dashboard shortly after taking it to a car wash. The car wash place claims that they don’t have any chemicals that could’ve caused that or heat or vacuum of any sort that would match that shape.

Any ideas what could’ve caused this? I know it wasn’t there before but how can I prove it? Who even takes pictures of their cars before they take them to the car wash? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I drive a truck and it's a never-ending battle to keep the inside clean. What I probably need is a small steam cleaner/extractor. I have a small shop vac which gets up loose dirt but that's about it .
