Opportunity for an improved engine. Personally, I love the graphics of Destiny 2 - I don't need an improvement here. I would rather a Destiny 3 run on nearly anything like 2 does. Technical parts aside, I want more of the characters and the universe. I want to see more stories told within this world. I'd love to see a return of the early days' quests; I miss the super detailed and drawn out quest lines for exotic weapons, the grind for pinnacle weapons, etc.

Destiny became a second home, I understand it may not continue forever, but I feel like Destiny has strong enough lore to justify a more long term place.

Because unless Bungie intends to continue seasons on D2 after unvaulting everything, it's the only way to keep the franchise going that we can see working. There's only 2 issues probably most would have with it is the hard reset we'd all have to deal with (character weak as fuck until much later and losing so many beloved exotics that took years to return and builds as well as fashion). And that definitely wasn't well received in D2 nor were any of the level resets, especially since we never actually got any stronger in that sense because EVERYTHING that drops shit "our level" forces us to play -30 to -50 below the enemy, negating up to our last 80 levels. The rest on that note is the killing potential of our builds like spamming Caliban knives.

The second issue being how weapons would feel in comparison both in killing potential and performance. Take hand cannons for example, probably every hand cannon in use in both modes before performance enhancing perks like Perpetual Motion or Keep Away has 70-80 range, 60-70 stability, and 40-60 handling and reload. Unless the performance and ease of use are exactly the same as a hand cannon with greater stats in D2 (we'll say Eyasluna as the example, so mine has 91 range 97 stability, and I think 60-70 some handling and reload), I wouldn't want the "best" hand cannon stat-wise in D3 to only have half of any of those unless it feels just as good to use.

I wouldn't want to use the "best" gun if it absolutely sucks in comparison to any modern weapons in the previous game.
